11.01.2022 What are you looking at Nath? This little scope is called a refractometer and is used to test the baume [sugar level] of the grapes in the vineyard. This tells the winemaker when it’s time to pick the grapes. Before picking, bunches of grapes are also taken to a lab for testing to get more accurate readings of PH, Baume and TA (acidity) so grapes are picked at the perfect time....
