21.01.2022 Vale Brian Gossip. Brian was a much loved and valued member of our brigade. The following is a message from his family:
21.01.2022 The situation is serious but here is some comical but sensible advice on mask wearing taking into consideration the following recommendation. ‘Mr Andrews said government advice to residents of the lockdown zones - greater metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire - was for adults over the age of 18 to wear a cloth mask when they were out of their homes and unable to maintain a social distance of at least 1.5 metres from others’.

17.01.2022 It’s important to have more than a Plan A
16.01.2022 We had two turnouts so far today. Please be careful with old fires as a bit of wind can flare things up and cause them to spread quickly.
16.01.2022 An exert from a booklet generated in October 1981 about the history of our brigade.

08.01.2022 Last night (Friday 26 June) at about 10.30pm a man fell at a skate bowl in Noble Park sustaining a fractured femur. Paramedics requested assistance from the Fir...e services to extricate the injured man. A high angle rescue crew from CFA Dandenong assisted by crews from MFB’s Ladder Platform 25 secured the patient into a stretcher and then used the ladder platform to transport the patient to ground level. Whilst only about 3m down, with the patients injury and consideration for emergency workers safety, the ladder platform is an effective rescue tool. The man was transported to the Alfred Hospital for emergency surgery. Greater Dandenong SES also provided support and lighting.
08.01.2022 Last night our crew attended a car fire at the Gruyere Hall.

07.01.2022 Maybe you're having a bad day, but I'm pretty sure you're not having a "tell your boss you set off the fire suppression system at the Minnesota National Guard hangar and foamed all 10 aircraft." kinda bad day...
07.01.2022 Batten down the hatches (again)....
07.01.2022 After tragedy comes hope. Green pastures and the kindness of strangers has helped this community move on from the Black Summer bushfires.
07.01.2022 It’s Jen here. I thought it would be a good idea to show our appreciation to local businesses who support us. Today’s appreciation post: Levantine Hill
05.01.2022 Sincere thanks Matt Sartori for 18 years as Captain of the Gruyere Fire Brigade! Welcome Captain Jason Richardson! - You have big shoes to fill!

04.01.2022 Vale Brian Gossip Today's touching funeral service was conducted by CFA Chaplain Harley Kitchen, with emotional family tributes. Captain Matt Sartori recounted Brian's years of friendship, service & dedication, including as Communications Officer. ... Matt also performed the traditional placing of Evergreens onto the coffin. As members could not attend due to Covid19, they stood at attention at the end of their own driveways as the Funeral possession led by Gruyere Bigfill travelled thru Gruyere. On Gruyere Bigfill all emergency lights were blacked out as respect the firefighter had attended their last call. Goodbye mate
03.01.2022 Wishing you a happy and safe Easter!
