22.01.2022 Good Evening everyone, remember the Open Day is tomorrow! I look forward to seeing you all there! We unveiled our new Mural this week and it looks amazing! Make sure you either do the tour tomorrow or head over to A block to see it! This is what Mrs Collins has to say about it: "Today, following our Academic Recognition Assembly we unveiled our newest school mural, created in celebration of our 50th Anniversary. As a whole the mural reflects our school’s history, the developm...ent of learning over the past 50 years, our diverse school community, and our strength as a Creative and Performing Arts High School. We thank Dr Mark Carter for joining us as our special guest and officially unveiling our mural. Ms O'Keefe and Ms Wright are to be congratulated on their dedication and enthusiasm as they involved the Visual Arts Ensemble and elective classes as well as the wider school community in the creation of this piece. We hope our newest mural is a visual enjoyment for years to come and is enjoyed by all who visit our school. -Mrs Collins, Head Teacher CAPA" During the week we have had people sharing about how they enjoyed our Dinner Night and sharing photos, Laurie Ferguson shared his enjoyment of the night with a few photos of our speakers, this one from Luke Foley featuring Luke Foley, Julia Finn MP, Laurie Ferguson, Deputy Principal Ms Issa and Principal Mrs Johnston. Do you have any other photos from the night you would like to share with us? All photos will make it to the archives and may be used for future anniversary events! We are also selling all photos taken by our photographer on a USB tomorrow from the Anniversary Dinner, come along and you never know who you might run into!

21.01.2022 Welcome back to the new term we now only have a bit more than a week till the dinner night on 30th July and over 2 weeks till the open day on 6th August. Are we all getting excited? Which event/s are you attending? This week I'm going back to 2011 & showing some of the students studying science. Those experiments on gravity look fun! What was your favourite part of science at school?... Have a good weekend everyone! Leia Tookey 50th Anniversary Team

20.01.2022 Good Afternoon, As of Friday it will be school holidays, this means there are only 4 weeks till the start of our events! We are all getting excited (and nervous!) over everything, we can't wait to show you all the hard work we have been doing. We are still selling Pavers for $25, they will be displayed on the front of A block and you can have 3 lines with 17 characters per line per paver. Please email me at [email protected] and I will send you over a form to fill o...ut. Now for today's memory, in 2006 Students from year 11 at Shoin Higashi High School in Japan visited our school during their 4 day stay in Sydney. During this visit both our students and theirs performed songs and later in the day the students participated in a year 11 economics class. It was a fun visit with students exchanging emails by the end of the day. Edit: I'd like to thank the past students from the Assemblies for the last 2 weeks. Mr Rick Seretis is a director of Public schools and helped us celebrate 1986-1995. Also Mr James Goth and Tina O'Connor, who were in the same year in high school, helped us celebrate 1976-1985. We thank you very much for attending, the students have been enjoying these assemblies. Hope you all have a lovely holidays and we will see you when we are back in 2 weeks. 17.01.2022 Good Afternoon everyone. As some of you know the Dinner Night was a wonderful evening and it was lovely to meet some of you. First a message from Mrs Collins: Congratulations to Shahad, Filipo, Joshua, and Onyx for their outstanding performance on Saturday evening. These students, all from our Music Ensemble, performed a 45-minute set for our guests as they arrived at our 50th Anniversary Dinner held at Holroyd Function Centre. A much more formally styled performance for thes...e students but they really stepped up and represented themselves wonderfully. - Mrs Collins HT CAPA Thank you Shahad, Filipo, Joshua, and Onyx. Now the Open Day is this Saturday 6th August from 10am-2pm. We will have Tours of the school, Food in the Quad, and Displays in the Hall. We will also be selling memorabilia in the Hall, our 50th Anniversary Celebration book, Pen and Pencil Sets, Pavers, Keyring Torches and USBs with or without the photos from the Dinner Night. It will be a lovely day so bring your family & friends and show them where you went to school. I look forward to seeing more of you on the day. Leia Tookey 50th Anniversary Team

13.01.2022 Hello everyone, We are getting much closer to all our events with the Dinner night being just over 6 weeks away! Now due to us not getting the numbers we were hoping for so far we are setting a closing date of the 11th July as we need to give the venue at least 2 weeks notice if we need to change to a smaller room. You will need to book by this date if you want to attend the Dinner Night. The trybooking website (http://www.trybooking.com/180589) is set to close at 4pm on the... 11th July. Today's trip down memory lane is back in 2005 three students from the Support Unit made it into the NSW Athletics Team to compete at the Pacific School Games in Melbourne. Jasmine Haffar year 7, Zackaria Elkheir year 8 and Donna Ajero year 9 gained selection into the track and field area under the same criteria used to select paralympians! During these games Jasmine went on to win 2 bronze and 2 silver medals, Zackaria 2 gold and a silver medal and Donna won 2 bronze medals. As normal if you have any questions just comment or send us a message. Till next week have a lovely weekend! Leia Tookey 50th Anniversary Team

02.01.2022 Good Afternoon all, Just to keep you informed our next assembly celebrating the decades will be on the 20th June then followed by the 27th of June and the last one which celebrates the first 10 years of the school is on the 25th of July which is the week before the Dinner Night. Its all drawing much closer now so I hope you have planned which event/s you are attending and bought your tickets for the dinner night! We are still accepting stall holders for the Open Day until the... 21st June so send us a message if you are interested. Pavers which will be displayed on the front wall of A Block are still available for $25, there is space for 3 lines on each paver with a maximum of 17 characters per line. What a great way to celebrate your time at the school! This week I'm staying in 2003 as we had quite a busy year. But today I chose to show you the evolution of the blank wall in the Quad across from the canteen into the first mural to be painted on that wall. It has been redone a few times since so there is a different design on the wall currently. Was this mural on the wall when you were at the school? Was a different one there or a mural else where? Let us know! See more
