This program is a multi-discipline challenge where teams are encouraged to use industry style technologies to design, manufacture and race miniature Co2 powered F1 cars. 18.01.2022 Help G&S make an impact for seriously ill children & their families when they need it most! G&S is proudly supporting the New Ronald McDonald Family Room at Mackay Base Hospital to aid local sick children and their families. Sean Melvin a Boilermaker from our Underground Team and his Fiancé Cara were required to temporarily relocate to Townsville when Cara went into Pre-term labour at 25 weeks. Sean was fortunate to access the Ronald McDonald house which instantly took the... financial stresses away and provided a ‘home away from home’ allowing Sean and Cara to focus on the health of their baby girl Dylan. His family were able to return home after 81 days and are extremely grateful for the support they received. Last week, the Fleet Department welcomed its first female work experience student, Jordan Plath from the Mackay Engineering College. Here is what Jordan had to say about her time with G&S: ... 1.How did enjoy your time here at G&S Engineering for your Work experience? I really enjoyed my time here and it was great to shadow each mechanic and learn from their extensive experience as they have all come from different work backgrounds. 2.What career do you envisage for yourself? At this stage I am unsure, but I think it will be a mechanical based career as I really enjoy it. 3.What do you think G&S can do better? The experience was all very smooth and the team were very welcoming. I especially liked that G&S employee female managers seem to care about equality, Stacey was a great mentor and I loved how she would come out and check up on us. It really showed she cared. 4.What’s one thing you learnt during your time with G&S? This week I learnt about basic servicing and CV shafts.
