25.01.2022 Some very good points in this article regarding colic. There are also other disease processes that can mimic the clinical signs of colic. It is very important to get Veterinary advice as soon as your horse displays unusual behaviour. Please do not administer any treatments, withhold feed and call your vet.

25.01.2022 With all the current coronavirus restrictions I wanted to assure you that I am doing everything I can to be available now and in the future to treat your horses. There is no need to panic like some people are but if we are all careful and stick to the recommended guidelines we can all stay safe and healthy. If you could please take note of the below recommendations when calling to book an appointment for your horse. 1. Please let me know if you or anyone you have been in c...ontact with has been overseas or if you are feeling unwell at all. If you are unwell then I can make arrangements to bring an assistant or see the horse on my own with minimal contact with you. 2. I will be washing my hands or using hand sanitiser in between calls and cleaning my equipment and I ask you to do the same before I arrive. 3. Please only have the one person present that is responsible for the horse and able to hold it. Do not have extra people around that do not need to be there. 4. At this time I would prefer over the phone or direct debit payments to limit contact with people, cash and the eftpos machine. 5. While I am performing the consultation please try to remain the recommended 1.5m apart, do not touch your face and cover all coughs and sneezes with your elbow. If we take these precautions then I can continue to offer a high level of service to you and your horse. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me on 0402 330 437. In the meantime keep an adequate social distance, keep washing those hands and most importantly keep sane by riding those horses in the fresh air.

13.01.2022 Don't forget to get online and use the gastric risk calculator to go in the draw to win a trip to the Melbourne cup.

12.01.2022 It has been the perfect weather for a little bit of field surgery. Here are some photos of a gorgeous little miniature donkey that I castrated. His little miniature pony friend was very concerned about him and looked after him while he was recovering from the anaesthetic. I then floated the teeth on his other little friend who was just starting to get some ulcers on his cheek due to some sharp points.
