24.01.2022 On Thursday 15th October, GSES and their partner Konserve Advisory Services, conducted an online training course for inspectors from the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS). The objective was to train the inspectors on how to verify that the test certificates provided for the individual products (solar modules, batteries, controllers and inverters) were genuine. The Ugandan Quality Assurance Framework for Component Based Solar Home Systems requires the products to meet... relevant IEC or UL standards. The training taught the inspectors how to verify that: - the test laboratory was ISO17025 accredited; - the test laboratory had the relevant products standards listed on their scope of works; and - the certificate was genuine and not a fake certificate. The training was part of the World Bank funded Energy Transformation III- a project that is being implemented by the Ugandan Rural Electrification Authority (REA) #solar #onlinetraining #renewablenergy
