25.01.2022 DON'T FORGET TO REMEMBER - a Bee Gees classic Good singalong. Listen to the singalong. What a night!

24.01.2022 Dear CLUB51ers A quick (yes, quick) message to the whole darn lot of you. We are all thinking of those we know who are lonely at this time, having lost their special person, and many who are not feeling up to scratch lately, the partners and families of many of our 51ers who are doing it tough emotionally, caring for loved ones. What a wonderful place Australia is to be, where we can get together with friends and family, and our pets, as long as we have a good fan or air c...on, eat the watermelon, hose the grandkids down. Keep safe this Christmas and love each other. (That means you Bruce Walker). Lets catch up with news after the season. Hugs to you all, especially all of you handsome men. Kathy and Heather CLUB51 [email protected]

21.01.2022 Good Morning Club51ers, I have some news which should make many of you happy. Hopefully all of you. We now have a FACEBOOK GROUP Page. It is different to this Page and more user friendly. Have a look at GSHS Club51 and it should come up. It has more to its name e.g. 1951 approx vintage. 66Jnr & 68Snr. But writing just the start will bring it up. We would like to hear from everyone. Just post some news on the page as you would your own page. We have 96 members so far. Remember add only Club51s or their partners if the Facebook is in the partners name. Post any questions on the page as well. I hope you enjoy. Kathy.

20.01.2022 SPICKS AND SPECKS. And a singalong crowd.

20.01.2022 Club51 please check our other Facebook page - important news. https://www.facebook.com/events/1049893271757375/?ti=icl

20.01.2022 Time to admit I made a blooper? Daryl and Malcolm Dodt are brothers, not cousins. Well.... you know how it is when one gets to our age...... easy to blame senior moments isn't it!

19.01.2022 Yes I am still alive. Sorry everyone. I think of you all. I will get back to you. Here is a photo in the Gympie Times today, from 1968. Okay all the lucky kids who played golf in 1968 I recognise Vicki Marr Sandra Edwards Jenny Maier, Lindel Forsyth (not you Lindel but Jenny is there). Maybe alert others Kathy

19.01.2022 TREAT HER RIGHT. A Roy Head song.

17.01.2022 Watch out for kenzii Spartz. A possible hacker. I have blocked her and joan warned me. Gear Block her everyone.

15.01.2022 It is with sorrow that I'm letting everyone know another one of our group has passed away. The guys and gals from 8F will remember Lloyd well. Apparently his death was quite sudden. Condolences to his family and friends. (Heather) HARTWIG, Lloyd Wallace HARTWIG. The Funeral Service for Lloyd Wallace Hartwig will be held in our Williamstown Funeral Chapel on FRIDAY (July 17, 2015) commencing at 2.30 p. m. A private Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Western Hospital in Footscray (ICU). Published in Herald Sun on 15/07/2015

15.01.2022 Proud dad Peter Tweed at the Gympie Eisteddfod this week, with daughter Sarah. Isn't it great to see our schoolmates' offspring. I do think Sarah gets her beauty from Mum not Dad. Sorry Peter. Well done Sarah, winning the Vocal Solo. Maybe your lovely voice comes from Dad. Kathy LW.

15.01.2022 Check out our new Facebook Page. It is more user friendly. View previous posts here explaining it. I will add posts here for a while but would LOVE you all to use the other page to converse among yourselves. Hope all is well with the whole 300 plus of you. Cheers Kathy.

14.01.2022 On our other website last night I posted a reminder for our big birthday party bash to be in October 2016. Already have feedback that a date is needed. WOW. I've consulted with the full moon calendar for next year. To avoid our partying, going troppo and perhaps yowling under a full moon, I've worked out Saturday 8th will also be the best date we are least likely to get rained upon. Any objections to having the same format as our book launch? That is - my place, everyon...e bring finger food to share, BYO drinks and we'll fire up the bbq for the stayers. Up to everyone to spread the word we're celebrating 50 years since turning 15. Never to late for those who will be celebrating 51 years! I'm sure Kathy will send out an email sometime. Hoping to catch up with her and Joanie very soon. Heather PS Sorry about all the photos - I was attempting to change our profile pic. See more

14.01.2022 For those of you not already in the know, there are 2 great facebook pages I recommend you follow as we all have Gympie links & memories. Facebook: Type in "NostalgicNugget". Has weekly videos created by Daryl Dodt who has a great sense of humour. Then there is "Gympie. The real treasure is the town" created by Malcolm Dodt. These 2 fellows are like the local version of the Leyland Brothers, except they are cousins, not brothers. Just been here at the old Tozer house as part of their upcoming nostalgic story about the emu feather in the Light Horse's slouch hat. Heather

13.01.2022 Hello everyone, this is an update on the Facebook Page created this week. Now, only members can access the new Group Page. You are wondering why? Because I have discussed the privacy issue with others and this prevents Joe Blow from down the road, ever seeing our Group Name, and our Member List, and we can feel safer with this knowledge. As I have mentioned before, please pm me if you wish to suggest better ways of doing things. Thanks all, and please only Facebook friends can add members, so if anyone is missing, get your Facebook friend to add you.

12.01.2022 Hi Kathy, We were at the Hervey Bay seafood festival to day, and were seated next to this lovely couple, got talking and realised we had gone to the same reunion, so here we are with Dianne and Phil Young, and his brother and wife, great afternoon of seafood, great wines, and company. Maybe you could put it up on your site, when I tried the photo was a bit fuzzy.....or was that all the wine!!!!! This is the happy message I received from Ricky Chippendall AKA Erica Chapman tonight. Go Ricky!

12.01.2022 How often have we seen Noel Prowd smile such a big smile. He did enjoy the night. He worked hard. Maybe he was looking at the 65 year olds dancing and saw something funny? Can't imagine what.

12.01.2022 Spen's new Jewellery - He received his OAM just yesterday and the Gympie Times has written a splendid article. What a gorgeous photo Spencer. We should have realised back in Grade 1 when he started a long reign of always being first in class, this guy is going to do things. Well deserved and with your lovely Lyndel beside you all the way, you have given your best to Gympie. Thank you.

11.01.2022 RUNNING BEAR - the old Sound Lounge favourite. We hear Noel Prowd'S drum story and a great drum solo so a bit of chatting going on as well. Crazy Club51s and ex patrons of the Sound Lounge we LET come, even though some were girls from the Catholic School. Hmphh. As long as they didn't look at our guys. Ring ins were Desley Neal, Morrison sisters, Narelle (Walker) Marshall and Jerry, Diane........ YOU WILL RECOGNISE THEM. They haven't changed in 50 years. None of us have.

09.01.2022 Just reminding everyone to keep October 8, 2016 weekend free for our big birthday bash. Sorry about being so quiet for while. It'll be similar format to the book launch. At Gympie Heather's place from 10am. Everyone bring finger food to share. We'll have a bar similar to our Gathering in 2014 at Kathy Little Walker's. Plenty of room for caravans, camping etc. Please remind others you talk with. Will keep you all in the loop as time progresses. Heather

08.01.2022 From Lynn Bartholomew, photographer of our CLUB51 Anniversary day and night, 8th October, 2016. Thanks for the great photos, Lynn. You worked hard. Heather SG was wonder woman extraordinaire - her reproduction of the Sound Lounge revisited, was wonderful. The band Sharks Revival, led by Ed James, Trevor Pronger, Noel Prowd, Lex Fleming, and backed up by Ben James, (Ed's son), was a credit to you guys, performing after about 3 months practice, from different towns and after decades of non playing. They had to tell Trevor what a guitar was to start with. But as Ed said, within time he was telling them all how to do it properly. You guys are legends. You gave us all a taste of our teens. Not many people can experience their youth, once again, after 50 years. We will be forever grateful. Kathy, Heather SG. and all of CLUB51.

05.01.2022 It is with great sadness I must tell everyone that Lynne Wilson (Lynne Drillis) passed away in April 2019 as shown below. Joan Gear had popped on her page to wish her a happy birthday and saw this message posted. ................................................... Sadly, Lynne passed away last Saturday. Her funeral will be at Mt Thompson Crematorium , Nursey Rd, at 11am, Tuesday, 23 April. We will miss her smiling face. Please share if you are able to access her site. YOU WI...LL BE REMEMBERED! Love, Maggie .................................................... Her friend explained to Joan how ill she had been. Hi Joan- funny I was just thinking of Lyn today as it is birthday. We are 5 days apart and for the last 18 years have celebrated our birthdays together somewhere fun and sunny! I miss that this year. Lynn had stage 4 cancer in her liver and sadly had died on the operating table for her hip replacement infection.. I was shocked when her sister called me to say she didn’t pull through. I believe she is in a better place. She was in a lot of pain in the end. I am glad I left that message on her Facebook page as we are never sure who did not know. Love, Maggie ................................................ I feel Lynne would like to know we are thinking of her and her battles she has bravely handled. RIP Lynne.

05.01.2022 5 years and at least 100 of us connected by Facebook now and keeping in touch and still in contact with nearly 280 through email newsletters (when I get to doing it). We have been so fortunate to have met up since grade 8 in 1964. Great bunch of youngsters.

04.01.2022 VERY SAD NEWS TODAY - TRISH HOGAN PASSED AWAY 5/1/2017 It is with shock I am posting the Funeral Notice for Trish. She has been a battler against cancer since our first gathering in 2012. May she rest in peace.

03.01.2022 Att: CLUB51 Schoolies Invitation. You all know who you are. (Sorry, this is why getting older is great. Party time) I emailed this to all the addresses last night. Just covering my bases, I have edited the email, so we could post the notice on this site. The full email is on the new Facebook Secure page. (Refer prev posts on this page explaining our extra Facebook page). ... For those who don't open their emails very often, here is an edited version. IT'S TIME - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US - 50 YEARS SINCE WE TURNED 15 - (most of us) PARTY DATE - 8TH OCTOBER 2016 WEEKEND To all my new friends since 2012 and 13, when approx. 300 of Club51 met up or connected in some way. We had the best fun, Heather Joan and myself. 18 months of fun. We met last week to talk about it. We chatted for hours just laughing about how hard and how funny it was calling everyone. You all came. We are so grateful for that. I have made so many friends from school since our party, as I am sure others have, and I hope that those of you who couldn't make it last time do get to come this time. Well over 100 of us are on Facebook, making for quick chats and hellos. (Even Heather SG. ) You won't regret it. As we are getting older, maybe some of you should start the trip now. First reminder. 8th October 2016 So the wheels have started turning, guys. PLEASE MARK IT ON YOUR CALENDAR - KEEP TAKING YOUR VITAMINS AND KEEP FIT IMPORTANT PLEASE Any change of phone numbers or email addresses please let us know ASAP. If you know of someone else who has changed their email address we would appreciate your asking them to advise us. Please spread the word by mouth as well about the party as we don't want you all in Africa when it's on. Try to not book your walkabout then. It's great talking to you all again, Kathy Kathy Little & Heather Smith-Goodwin. FOR CLUB51

03.01.2022 Our website has been revamped by Brandy Murley, my daughter, and is looking great. It should be live tomorrow or next day. Check it out soon and please be patient with it. She has added a time clock, marking down the seconds to our PARTY. All the old photos are there or are being loaded gradually over the next few weeks (in her after hours time). I think I will have to leave her more than an overdraft in the Will. ALSO THE WEBSITE IS NOW MOBILE FRIENDLY. Extra cost prohibited us from adding that feature before. We are testing the page from tonight. Enjoy. K.

02.01.2022 Sadly, a friend from school has recently passed away, as a result of an accident. I have a lovely memory of Maurice in Grade 5 (he actually wrote me a lovely note. I was so shy) a brave country lad.
