25.01.2022 Our final Industry Professional who will be running our acting Masterclasses next year is the amazing Ian Rooney. We are also thrilled to announce that Ian wil...l be working with our group as the director of their showcase. Links to our application form for 2020 will be posted here early next week. Ian has worked in the television, film and theatre industry for over thirty years and is still passionately involved in every aspect of this wonderful work. His film credits include, The Bank, The Cup,,Tender Hook, Hawke, Cliffy, Dangerous Remedy and Chopper. Television credits include, Neighbours, Blue Heelers,Stingers, Halifax F.P., Marshall Law, Winners and Losers, City Homicide, Jack Irish, Underbelly, Hollowmen, The Weekly, and Last Man Standing. He has also been a regular cast member on The Doctor Blake Mysteries since its beginning in 2012 on the ABC and more recently on channel 7. He has just reprised a role in Neighbours and filmed an episode of Bloom2 to be shown on Stan later in 2020. His Theatre work includes, Julius Caesar, Taming of the Shrew, Merchant of Venice, Death of a Salesman, The Death of Peter Pan, Angels in America, Hobsons Choice to mention but a few, and has toured Victoria and interstate with Red Stitch Actors Theatre. He has recently completed a state tour of The Window Outside for Wise Owl Theatre Company. Ian works also in the corporate world as a role play actor for numerous companies in Victoria and interstate. He has appeared in many television commercials both in Australia and overseas.

23.01.2022 Exciting news for Geelong with some restrictions lifted and the number of cases going down. However, it looks like masks will be with us for a while. The amazing wardrobe department at GSODA have once again been busy and have replenished stocks of our beautifully made 3 layered cotton masks ready to be delivered this Saturday. Lots of colours and patterns ready to go including more of our special GSODA Gold masks and the very popular rainbow masks. At this stage we have more applications than we have places so will be sifting through all of them over the next few days and hopefully letters of offer and important information with all the details for the year will go out early next week. 16.01.2022 What a fabulous night of celebration for GSODA Inc last night. Such a joyous way to celebrate all of our 2019 productions. We started 2019 with Theatre Collective Showcase Lights Up 2019 in March. This was followed by the bigger than big production of Hercules the Pantomime by the Junior Players at The Geelong Arena. We went straight into rehearsal for our GSODA Inc production of Kinky Boots in the Playhouse theatre, then the Junior Players staged Larger than Life in Nov...ember in the Drama Theatre. The year rounded off with our talented 2019 workshop group performing A night of magic at Kardinia. 15.01.2022 Our own GSODA model demonstrating one of the fabulous masks made by our wardrobe department last week. They are all busy creating more of these triple layered masks with soft ties that go around the head instead of around the ears. We have all realised by now that we are going to need more than 1 or 2 masks each to get through this so get onto these beautifully made masks and help GSODA with our fundraiser at the same time. Children must first complete a workshop year where they will be mentored by an experienced production team in vocals, dance and acting, culminating in a November production of their own. Places in the Junior Players become available due to retiring juniors and will be filled from this workshop group only.... Applications for our 2020 workshop are now open. If you were involved in 1977, 1999 or 2007 productions, we are excited to announce that we will be having a reunion on Saturday April 28th. More information to be announced very soon, so tag your cast mates and keep the afternoon free to reminisce and see the new cast in action.... there may even be some Turkish delight to share!
