11.01.2022 The Great South West Walk north of the Blowholes Lookout is suffering from erosion caused by exposure to the elements. We are working to complete this project during October, placing rows of jute matting along the upper side of the track, begun in Feb/March 2020 which will slow down soil movement, reduce water flow and encourage vegetation growth. When: Thursdays 15th, 22nd 29th October Saturdays 17th, 25th October Tme: 9am 11.30am... Where: Meet at Blowholes Carpark 9am Who: Volunteers bring a friend, relative, visitor and/or family All Welcome! For more information: Jen Johns 0417 345440 / Bill Golding 03 55232636 COVIDSAFE RESTRICTIONS WILL APPLY, so please only attend if you have no symptoms and are wearing a mask Social distancing will be adhered to also. Thank you. See more

09.01.2022 Exciting! We have our own GUIDEBOOK!! Just in time for Christmas. This is a fantastic resource for planning, learning and loving the GSWW. Full of interesting information, maps, track notes, flora and fauna, history and geology, and even Gordon Page’s famous damper recipe, you will not be able to resist having it. Available locally at newsagents, Gear & Beer, the Portland and Nelson Information Centres and of course via the website. http://www.greatsouthwestwalk.com/track/map%20sales.php PS if you’re a member you are eligible for a small discount, but will need to order through the website

09.01.2022 Just in case you’ve got the urge for a stroll....

08.01.2022 Thank you Friends for purchasing the GSWW Guidebook, the sales are going really well and the feedback has been fantastic! Here are some photos of the launch we held at Tarragal Camp late last year.

06.01.2022 WILD TIMES Track update 8/8/20 Currently the LOWER GLENELG NP IS CLOSED TO ALL ACTIVITIES. But the COBBOBOONEE and DISCOVERY BAY NP’S ARE OPEN TO LOCAL WALKERS ONLY. These are wild times for everyone, with things as unpredictable as Mother Nature. So please check updates on the Parks Vic website for each National Park you are wanting to walk, (it will make more sense than searching the GSWW as the track covers multiple Parks). Thank you!

06.01.2022 Think I might just do this one... Rebecca gives us the download on the GSWW, check it out, very comprehensive, thanks Rebecca If you’ve got any more questions after this, or friendly advice, comment below

02.01.2022 Now this is a scene from the past!! You can’t be with your friends, but you can be with ours! Now is the time to renew or become a Friend of the Great South West Walk. Though you cannot walk together in groups, we can all still be Friends! By becoming a Friend you are showing your support for the walk. As well as ensuring that the maintenance and upkeep of this Great Walk continues on. You can never have enough FRIENDS!... So while we are all in lockdown, let’s get prepared, join up, tell your friends to do the same, and we’ll gather on the track as soon as the sun is shining again! Head to http://www.greatsouthwestwalk.com/membership/index.php to join. Thank you and stay safe See more
