24.01.2022 What kind of week has everyone had? I managed to spend Sunday playing ponies wahoo Because this week I’m all over the country side This week I’ve already travelled to Dumbleyung, Katanning, tambellup, jingalup and Kojonup ! The rest of the week has me in Denmark and Albany ... Hope you’ve all made time to do more than just feed and rug ponies and bring on the longer daylight hours See more

19.01.2022 Someone’s walking better this morning after a trim

13.01.2022 Ever wondered what happens when your not able to make it for your appointment and your farrier has to trim solo... Here’s the thing... we all take advantage of those moments ....... Yes that’s right! Us farriers cant be trusted to trim your ponies without you The appointment runs over time and we’re not concentrating on the task at hand the horses don’t complain though

11.01.2022 Do you ever feel like some horses just stare you down? That’s a thing right? Like the chick at the party when all you do is talk about horses and she’s trying to change the subject? Guess I didn’t get the memo Sorry Riva! Must remember to not make eye contact in the future

11.01.2022 A Perfect example of what miniature horse hooves should look like Tiny hooves for a tiny horsey

11.01.2022 I often have new clients book in that are embarrassed by the state of their horses hooves, maybe they struggled to find a new farrier when their previous one stopped coming their way, maybe time got away or the horses were put out of sight when the family fell on hard times... Regardless of what happened prior to my first visit, I actually. Don’t care. I care about moving forward and repairing and building a Relationship with the client and their horse. My philosophy on this ...situation has always been Never make some one feel bad about doing the right thing by their horse If I do that, how likely are you to call me back? Or will you be scared I’ll tell you, you’ve not done the right thing by letting the trim go on? Sure ideally your horse will be kept on a schedule for their hoof health But I’d rather you felt like you could call me and your pony would be trimmed, instead of trying to find another farrier because your embarrassed you let it happen again I can make incredible changes when the horse is kept on a schedule But if the horses trim gets pushed out repeatedly, so long as the client understands all I can do is take the length off, and I’m not going to be able to keep the hoof looking strong and healthy, I’m okay with that. 10.01.2022 Who would that thought that this gorgeous little pony, a year ago was referred to as the little devil child... I often said in the early days to her wonderful owner, that one day all the hard work would be worth it and she would be up there with the best horses on my books ! Well 13 months later, it’s been said This little pony has had quite the journey not just in hoof handling but in bonding with humans Congratulations to her owner for putting in the hoof handling homework and preserving with kind, firm but gentle leg work! Together this little devil is now a little angel!

08.01.2022 Working with foals... has got to be the most rewarding experience! Knowing that every time I ask a baby to do something I’m helping them on the learning journey to be a willing and kind horse for the farrier. If you set a baby up right ! Your setting your horse up for success for life! I’m not just talking about standing beautifully and fuss free for the farrier, I’m also talking about developing a structurally sound hoof that well developed and all joint angles are spaced c...orrectly so that the future soundness of the horses your foal is going to grow into isn’t compromised by arthritis later on in life due to having unbalanced hooves and loading the joints as a result! These reasons are why when your a loyal client of mine, I will do all HoofCare handling and trimming for the first 6 months at my own cost! Because I believe in giving back to the gorgeous horses that give us so much See more
