18.01.2022 Queensland vs NSW, starting now.

17.01.2022 An absolute nail biter of a game today with the Sea Eagles coming from behind for their first win against the Renegades in the final seconds, scoring a converted touchdown to win 30-28. With the Lions Nic Glanville filling in at QB for the Sea Eagles, he played a masterful game passing for 2 TDs to Billy Barucci, as well as the winning TD on a rush up the middle. Throw in a long 70 yard interception return, and he was a key contributor. Harrison Lacey also played a cracker ...of a game, and deservedly won the Sea Eagles Instinct Athletic Player of the Game, for his 100+ total yards in both air and ground, key TD run, and several critical tackles. The entire team played well to force the outcome, and other notables were Sam Kenner and his dominance on defense, Buracci for his 2 TDs and interception, and Angus Bailee for a great game in coverage and his forced fumble and recovery at a critical time of the game. For the Renegades, they only lost by the skin of their teeth, and they will be able to learn from it. Sam Fros continued his great play at WR with 2 more TDs catches (from QB Williams) and was the Player of the Game for the Renegades. The offense rode RB Jackson all game long with hard inside running that kept the chains moving along with 2 more TDs (and an INT on defense). Jed Wallis moved to Centre for this game in his captains absence, and played a solid game creating lanes for Jackson. However it was the defense that shone, with Ben Rhodes taking a pick in the end zone 90 yards (to go with a 40 yard catch and run on offense), and Enzo Balducci again proving he is a defensive force, with many tackles for loss and a big INT in the final quarter. All in all a terrific game, with the closest final score in GT history proving once again what a solid and even competition we have. Well done Sea Eagles. We now have a break for Christmas and back in January 7th. From GT Juniors, we wish players, parents, supporters, friends and family a happy and safe Christmas!
