19.01.2022 Detectives from Moonee Valley Criminal Investigation Unit are investigating a burglary in Avondale Heights earlier this month. Victoria Police: "Two men broke ...into a house on Arvern Avenue on 12 January and stole a moderate amount of cash. Luckily, the victim had a camera set up on his computer which was continually recording which has captured the offenders’ movements once inside Investigators have released images of the men who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries. The first is described as having a stocky build, short dark hair and is perceived to be of Caucasian appearance. He is believed to be aged in his 30s and was wearing a blue G-star t-shirt at the time the images were captured. The second man has a lean build, peroxide tips in his hair and tattoos on his right arm and the right side of his neck. This man is also perceived to be Caucasian, aged in his 40s and was wearing a white-t-shirt at the time the images were captured. 13.01.2022 My 14-year old son was physically assaulted and robbed in the men's toilets on Friday 20th Jan at around 715pm. He was ganged up by 8 males of around 14-18 year...s of age. One of them punched him in the eye the moment he stepped out of the cubicle and another demanded for his mobile phone. We spent around 3 hours in the Footscray Police Station last night taking statements and photos of his swollen eye. He was not alone in the assault as he was with his friends who were also in the toilet at that time. All happened in the men's toilet outside the food court at Sushi Sushi. There were adult witnesses in the toilet when it happened and no one helped. I am shocked, disgusted and appalled at this brazen attack and the lack of security for our mall goers. Punching someone without being aggravated and stealing is a crime. How many more young people need to be attacked in our city before something is done? I don't know how many more of such crimes happen in Highpoint on a daily basis, but I am determined to make my point very clear to the mall that I will not tolerate this. And I am very sure many more Melburnians will agree with me that we are sick of this disruption to our way of life. They split... into three groups down Lebanon St, Jones Court and Quintus Ave. Keep an eye out. 01.01.2022 This morning a car was stolen on Gowanbrae Drive at a construction site. The builder moved his car to the front of the house being built got tools out of the bo...ot and took them in. Spotting the car and keys in it the thief stole the car the builder had tried to stop him when a 4WD rammed the car. More details will be in 9 news 6pm.
