25.01.2022 An individuals choice to determine what works best for them is paramount in health. Attempting to control doctors that seek to offer an integrated approach is pure control and a total lack of understanding that the body functions as a whole system, not lots of different parts. HAVE YOUR SAY!

24.01.2022 Sometimes we just try to hard when we just need to be present to whats alive in the moment

22.01.2022 To go with a recent post!

21.01.2022 Good way to deal with kids (young and old)

20.01.2022 something to try

20.01.2022 I believe Feelings are a visceral response, yet most often we go to the brain to attempt to put a ‘word’ to the sensation. That’s were we get stuck with our limited vocabulary! I encourage clients to inhabit the sensation and to describe the texture, the image or anything unique about that. Over time we can then relate that to our deeper needs and learn to recognise what the bodily sensations are saying to us.

20.01.2022 Familiar scenario to me!

19.01.2022 Good article on the vagus nerve, what it is, its connections and simple ways to stimulate

18.01.2022 both my clients in these situations and I know shiatsu is effective. Always good to read from others who also find this to be the case. Very brief article; thanks for sharing Bev Breeze

17.01.2022 This is what most practitioners need to grasp! Knowing TCM is great but connecting with patients is what makes a successful practice

17.01.2022 This is a key component of my work; getting people in touch with their body via the breath...

16.01.2022 I often say people would rather die than change!

16.01.2022 Im enjoying listening to Johann Hari; it affirms my beliefs. Thanks for putting me onto him Philip Shirrefs

15.01.2022 Interesting article which says to me that healthcare has lead us to a place where we have become a pharmaceutical experiment driven in a big part by profits and a lack of deeper understanding of illness in the human experience. Sadly politicians have forgotten their role of representing the people. They focus instead on getting elected, and peddling fear and confusion is their mode. Also all to happy to please big business. Humans are spiritual and social beings and healt...h and healing (if it truly seeks long term change) needs to always consider the whole. This is the power of complementary health and especially Shiatsu. M The western pharmaceutical approach simply looks at the part, to take away the pain to get people back into the robotic mode without asking what are the underlying causes?

14.01.2022 Another example of conservatism and its out-of-touch moral argument despite scientific evidence saying the opposite is more positive in terms of health and well-being. I spent last night at my sons 18th and prior discussions around his potential drug use was based on what he had been told by peers. They really need the pill testing approach to properly educate them.

13.01.2022 A Christmas message...

11.01.2022 Deepening our awareness of of being; that is in essence self care

11.01.2022 Interesting article and well worth the read. The strength of human beings has always been in working together. According to the British author Joan Hari (well worth a search), we are the first group of humans to try and go it alone with significant negative mental health impacts. ... Time to start working together again!

11.01.2022 Brilliant advice from Thich Nhat Hanh.

11.01.2022 Being authentic is one of the reasons of our human experience!

10.01.2022 Good to see shiatsu being researched; safe nurturing touch is integral to our health and wellbeing

09.01.2022 A course my partner Jane has created in which I have a slot as a co-facilitator sharing (hopefully succinctly!) information about the Earth Element...

09.01.2022 Regular stretching a vital part of maintaining a healthy body. some for the lower back...

07.01.2022 Totally agree; sadly lots of people are attached to theirs being right!

06.01.2022 Now is the time to keep ramping up the pressure on the government to get its head out of the sand and start actively promoting preventative healthcare models rather than trying to squash them out; the old model is broken!

06.01.2022 Thanks for sharing Emma Strapps Shiatsu. Good to hear there are some politicians looking forward

06.01.2022 Great phots; brings the anatomy alive

06.01.2022 I really like the symbolism of this; there is no right or wrong, black or white, good or bad. Just flavours, sensations and experiences and we need to be open to both sharing ours and importantly listening to others...

05.01.2022 Now you can look in the bathroom mirror in a totally new light!

04.01.2022 Back in Auckland after an amazing 4 day conference with the NZ Shiatsu Practitioners Association in Golden Bay. Connecting to the powerful energy of the earth with my kiwi shiatsu whanau was certainly one of those golden moments in life

02.01.2022 This is doing the rounds so please engage and send Greg Hunt a message that the way forward he is proposing is a major step backwards.
