18.01.2022 GTS(M) SDN BHD has successfully completed another mile stone project in South East Asia Region. This time GTS(M) Sdn Bhd was requested to carry out a complete HV Cable diagnostic test consist of Sheath test, IR test, Tan delta Test and Partial Discharge test on an ageing 11kV XLPE cables at one of the oil refinery plant in Thailand. GTS has tested close to 40 nos of 11kV XLPE cable which have been in service for more than 25 years. This is a part of Diagnostic test which give...s the overall conditions and reliability of these cables in service. These test results also will be used as a baseline results for future trending. This is very important as the cable insulation could generally start to deteriorate normally after 25-30 years in operation. GTS uses the latest technology and different type of test method that available in the market for accurate and reliable assessment. GTS has carried out Tan Delta testing using BAUR and HVA Diagnostic Test equipment. The tan delta test on power cable is using VLF 0.1Hz method. Meanwhile for Partial Discharge test, GTS have used two different techniques as shown in the photo. GTS uses OWTS (Oscillating Wave Test System) or DAC (Damping AC) Method using SebaKMT equipment and also PD test by VLF method using BAUR VIOLA. Both these systems have its own advantages and GTS owned and uses both this system for most accurate and reliable results and assessment. 12.01.2022 GTS(M) Sdn Bhd has been assigned to carry out a Pre-Calibration on 509 nos of Protection Relay which includes ABB SPAJ 140C, REJ 601, CDG, VAMP 40, Terasaki and Mikro ELR at one of the semiconductor factory in Malacca. This relay calibration is a part of statutory test by Energy Commission for electrical operators in Malaysia. These test results also will be used as a baseline results for future trending to ensure that the relay still reliable to operate as desired in order to clear fault. 05.01.2022 Our latest project in Malaysia. We have been engaged by our client to calibrate 32 nos of protection relays which 26 nos are electromechanical relay and the rest are numerical relay. These relays were successfully calibrated within a day by our experienced technicians and engineers. The purpose of this test is to ensure that it operates as designated to clear fault in operation.
