15.01.2022 VDJ70 Owners - gated replacement turbo upgrade - 1120wNm 288wkW 35 muds That’s right, last week Steve at PowerTorque Vic replaced a premium $$$$$ wastegated and DPF upgrade kit with the current NextGEN GTurbo G350VD direct bolt on VNT turbo, leaving the high flow DPF in place. The G350VD is quickly becoming established as the go to turbo for the 3-4.5 Litre diesel engine class, excelling in every application from racing to the heavy hauler. In testing, EMP to Boost rat...ios as low as 0.71:1 have been logged (Testing this year for NextGEN VNT system long term suitability in higher EGT petrol engines will be underway soon). It did not dissapoint this time either. With reliable mapping having long been developed, it was as simple as removing the wastegated kit, refitting the factory parts, gaskets etc and loading the developed tune! The result was going from 170kw 620Nm to an extraordinary 245kW 950Nm on standard injectors! Fitting the new GTurbo VD-Pro-P (Piezo) high flow injectors then delivered a cracking 1120Nm to wheels and 288kW to the wheels - on 35 muds Over 1000Nm to the wheels from 1850-2850rpm. 12.01.2022 N80 Hilux - over 70% more power and torque compared to standard. Clean, smooth, responsive and towing safe. This week we did the first of our new GD-Pro injectors for the N80 in conjunction with our G250-GD bolt on turbocharger. It’s an awesome combination in terms of the outright result and the simplicity. ... Don’t get sold on the marketing of shiny bits that don’t do much if anything to improve your performance due to other more pressing restrictions being the cause. If performance is your first priority, do these mods first and add the bling after. Dyno graph shows Std tune but with G250GD turbo fitted and the manta exhaust (it’s better/higher than std and a lot leaner). Next higher run is tuned with Std injectors. Final run, lowering AFRs only 0.5 of a point and running the same boost is after the GD-Pro injectors were added. The difference in performance is impressive.
