25.01.2022 Today we are cooperating in our annual south east region group exercise down at mudgeeraba show grounds. The public is welcome to come down and have a look at what we do. There will be all different kinds of scenarios that the crews will be tested on. We also have a fair few brigades from NSW Rural Fire Service here with us. It’s going to be a fantastic day and a special thanks goes to Gold Coast Rural Fire Brigade Group for putting this together

25.01.2022 It’s important everyone talks to their family about what they would do if a bushfire threatens their home. It only takes a few minutes but makes all the difference in an emergency. A good Bushfire Survival Plan: Is written down and easily accessible.... Is practiced regularly. Is created with your whole family in mind. Outlines when you will stay, and when you will leave. Is reviewed every year.

25.01.2022 We also have 2 crews on scene at this fire

24.01.2022 Blast from the past.

15.01.2022 Gold Coast Rural Fire Brigade Group and the 15 Volunteer Fire Brigades we represent wish to thank the community for the amazing support and feedback we have rec...eived over the past few days. The below news article was published in today’s Gold Coast Bulletin. Gold Coast City Councils stance on the issue is that our funding should be a state government responsibility, at present there is no commitment from state to take over our funding. We ask for the local community to keep asking why the decision was made to remove the $1 special Levy with no consultation with the rate payers of the Gold Coast. See more

06.01.2022 I don't believe in luck. Luck is for the ill-prepared! Have you got your property in order this Fire Season?

05.01.2022 Once again today Gold Coast brigades have multiple rural crews in attendance at the grass fire in Carrara. Please see below for further information from QFES. This continues to highlight that our rural brigades aren’t just restricted to rural areas of the Gold Coast. We ask that residents of the Gold Coast continue to request the City of Gold Coast Council to continue collecting the $1 levy on our behalf!!!

04.01.2022 Tonight we are conducting a hazard reduction burn on bignells road maudsland. There will be smoke in the area. We are using this as an opportunity to train our newer members to get them ready for their fire fighter minimum skills.

04.01.2022 The Gold Coast Rural Fire Brigade Group represents 15 Volunteer Fire Brigades that rely on the funding that the Gold Coast City Council has been collecting for ...several years on our behalf. This has been done via a special levy charge of $1 on the yearly rates notice. The Gold Coast City Council has voted to now cease the collection of $1 from rate payers. The funds collected are vital in the operation of the Gold Coast Groups Volunteer Fire Brigades. Our Group of Brigades and its volunteers are extremely concerned at how we will be supported financially after the final levy payment of only $1 is collected by the Gold Coast City Council. We are asking for the communities of the Gold Coast that you voice your opinion about the $1 levy and ask the question to your local Councillor why they have decided not to collect the levy to support our volunteers. 04.01.2022 Remembrance Day 2020 The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month marks the moment the guns fell silent on the Western Front after the bloodshed of World War I. Over the past century, this moment has been adopted across the globe as a time to remember those who served and sacrificed in all wars and conflicts. In this the 75th anniversary year of the end of World War II, we should Remember to Remember to commit to pausing for just one minute to remember those who gave the...ir lives in service to their country, those who returned home injured or ill, and those who bravely serve our country today. The Ode They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn! At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. Lest we forget!

03.01.2022 Who is going to check out Gold Coast Motor Museum this weekend. It’s not far from our station located on kreidman road.

02.01.2022 If a bushfire broke out in your local area, what would you do? Having a Bushfire Survival Plan can help your family know what action to take, and when you will leave. It is important you discuss your plan with your family members, so everyone knows what to do. You can make your plan by visiting: ruralfire.qld.gov.au//Create-your-bushfire-survival-plan.a
