19.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Monash University in collaboration with Chemist Warehouse Group is conducting a research project about pharmacy students perceptions towards working in community pharmacy as compared to other pharmacy practice areas. We are looking for pharmacy students to complete a quick survey to share their viewpoints towards community pharmacy that will take no more than 10 mins.... Through this research, we hope to gain a better insight on student perspectives and identify motivations and barriers that can affect their pursuit in a future in community pharmacy. From the data collected, we hope to identify any areas for improvement. All data collected will be anonymous and confidentiality of personal information about research participants will not be disclosed. This study has been approved by the Monash University Human Research Ethics Committee (MUHREC). 18.01.2022 This trimester, GUAPS partnered with Guild Super and Pitcher Partners Accounting to present a webinar on Financial Wellness as a Pharmacist. Topics included : An Introduction to Superannuation and Insurance, along with an inside scoop on the steps to becoming a pharmacy owner! Our presenters Ben Fagan (from Guild Super) and Jason Allen (from Pitcher Partners Accounting) gave out important advice on navigating the financial world, and included hints on how to start now and get yourself ahead for later! 18.01.2022 An update from our friends at NAPSA: Changes to registration exams for interns in 2021 To all our 2021 interns, there have been some KEY changes to registration exams that come in to effect as of Jan 1st 2021. ... Key changes: -Interns must now complete 75% of approved supervised practice hours before being eligible to sit both the oral and written exams -The written and oral exams will be held three times a year (Feb, June, Oct), with interns able to sit both exams in the same period -The written exam has been reduced from 3 hours to 2 hours -The oral exam has been reduced from 4 parts (45 mins) to 3 parts (35 mins) Part 1: Medication knowledge and counselling has been removed. Passionate ...pharmacy students, even those with limited NAPSA experience, are encouraged to consider this incredible opportunity to lead an organisation encompassing hundreds of pharmacy students from across the country. Nominations and applications will remain open until Monday the 6th July 2020 9am AEST. Voting for the NAPSA President and Executive Directors will take place at our upcoming Annual General Meeting held via teleconference on the 11th of July 2020 9am AEST. We encourage all members to apply for the Board, as it is an excellent opportunity to represent the students on a national level. The following Board positions will be up for nomination; the President (1) and seven (7) Executive Directors. Within the Board, further positions will be delegated once elected, including Secretary and Treasurer.
