05.01.2022 I have been working in the insurance industry since 1970 and I’ve never been as unsure about the future as I am now! We talk about the light at the end of the tunnel but right now that light seems so far away. In the past I have read about a pandemic event but it really didn’t mean a lot because I didn’t know what to expect. The devastation the Coronavirus has and continues to cause is soul destroying to say the least. All week I’ve had to console people that I’ve known f...or so long that are literally financially devastated overnight. The last phone call I had tonight was a guy who has lost 75% of his business in less that 5 days! 15 years of hard work and sacrifice has disappeared in the blink of an eye! To be honest I don’t know anyone that will be spared and that includes Guardian. That’s a tough realisation for me but we all live in hope and Guardian was built with a purpose and that purpose was to protect the future of our clients and friends. I know people will struggle financially physically and psychologically but we need to face this challenge as a collective. The reality is we might lose friends and love ones but life always finds a way and we need to ensure that there is a sustainable future for our kids. The best thing we can possibly do right now is support our local businesses that employ local people but above all buy Australian Made wherever you can. I’m sorry for the dramatic post but our clients our friends our staff mean a lot to us and all can hope for is that this difficult time comes to a quick end and God protects us all from this horrible disease.
