Thank you for your support - GGQ folk, we ask that you help celebrate a milestone birthday at Bakers Delight and purchase some great products from your local outlet.... CELEBRATE WITH US To celebrate our 40th birthday, we want to take you on a dancing journey through the ages of nice & simple Bakers Delight! It was all started 40 years ago by one family and has now grown to over 500 family businesses, baking the freshest, tastiest bread and snacks for Aussie families everywhere. It’s been an unforgettable four decades and we can’t wait for what’s to come. Now let’s party like its 1980!

21.01.2022 Congratulations to Tech Girls 2020 competition winners - Girl Guides Lones Region. The team consisting of Juanita, Maddy, Cassandra, Lisa (Coach) and mentored by Samantha won the Secondary Schools category for their 'Continued Clothing' App. In the team's own words:... Continued Clothing is a free app developed in the hopes of preventing more clothing than necessary going to landfill every year. To achieve this, the app gives users options on what they would like to do with each individual article of clothing in their closets. This includes giving them outfit ideas, ways to upcycle their clothing in new ways and, as a worst-case scenario, drop off locations for their local op-shops or thrift stores. Continued Clothing aims to diminish wear once concepts and help our environment. The app is aimed towards young women, specifically, teenagers however it is free for anyone to use who may be interested in finding new ways to use their clothing. 13.01.2022 Girl Guides Queensland are pleased to advise WAGGGS have released the International Day of the Girl Resource pack for 2020. The activity pack can be downloaded here: https://www.wagggs.org/en/what-we-do/day-of-the-girl/... Each year, WAGGGS celebrates with the #TeamGirl campaign and a new focus. For 2020, the global theme for International Day of the Girl is "My voice, our equal future." This year, girls and young women around the world are encouraged to make their voice heard by taking part in the WAGGGS #HearMeNow campaign. The #HearMeNow resource and social media campaign, provides girls worldwide a platform to share the causes they care about, so we can all work together towards an equal future, shaped for and by girls. The #HearMeNow resource is an activity pack designed for Guides of all ages to make their voices heard on International Day of the Girl 2020. Activities can be completed in one group meeting and focus on introducing advocacy to girls and young women. The #HearMeNow resource is designed to give girls a space to voice their opinions, and to give leaders tools to listen and support them to take action on causes they care about. Guides around Australia taking part in International Day of the Girl activities are encouraged to make a sign sharing their vision for the future, take a picture of themselves with their sign and share the photo on social media using the hashtags: #HearMeNow #TeamGirl and tag @GirlGuidesAustralia and @wagggsworld.

03.01.2022 Guides is all about friendship. On World Mental Health Day take the time to think about all of the people you have met throughout your Guiding journey. How about making contact with some friends you have not spoken with for a while...... Check in and see what they are up to. Make a difference, lend a caring ear and most importantly reconnect on a day when we take the time to reflect upon our own situation and that of others. Be a part of making someone feel good on World Mental Health Day in 2020.
