06.01.2022 In 1926, Girl Guide delegates from around the globe met in the USA for the 4th World Conference. They agreed that there should be an annual day when Girl Guides around the world express their thanks and appreciation for our international Movement. This what we now know as World Thinking Day, celebrated on the 22 February every year. This date was chosen because it was the birthday of both Lord Baden-Powell, founder of the Boy Scout Movement, and Olave Baden-Powell, who was... World Chief Guide. It is an opportunity to speak out on issues that affect young women and fundraise for 10 million Girl Guides in 150 countries. 04.01.2022 Tina joined Girl Guides Victoria as a member of the Executive Team in 2019 and is passionate about the impact of positive female role models that Girl Guides have on a young girl's life. Tina’s parents are from South Sudan and they moved to Australia when she was nine years old. She is now 24 and lives in Melbourne. Guiding has been in her family since her mother joined as a young girl in Sudan, and her sister joined in Kenya. More guidance ...will come out from Girl Guides Victoria, however please make alternate plans for all Guiding activities that are not already virtual. Updates will be posted to Workplace for all leaders and the website will be updated as information is available.
