10.01.2022 Belonging is a universal need; people with disabilities are no different. Without a seat at the table or champions to fight for you or experts on your side, it...s a whole lot harder for people with disabilities to belong; and for our communities to enjoy the full benefits of everyones voice, agency and participation. Independent advocacy in NSW is currently at risk. As a family who have used an advocacy service recently, I can attest personally to the importance of having someone at your side when you are facing complex problems in systems. We can attest to the importance of advocacy when facing the reality of abuse and neglect. Yesterday I was with an organisation in western Sydney whose doors look like they will close at the end of June. There were 20 people in the room who are not getting the support they need to access and understand the NDIS despite all the roles in the system designed to do just this. What are you waiting for Premier? We need you to #StandByMe and commit to funding NSWs disability advocacy.#WillYouStandByMePremier? @GladysB @StandByMeNSW Sign the petition:
