18.01.2022 "Splash of Colour" Exhibition by club members.

18.01.2022 Artist profile.....Anne Fowler Facebook page, Anne Fowlers Studio. I started pottery 8 years ago by sheer fluke. After the paper delivery man hurled the paper for the second time at my mosaic house number, I thought I would fix him. So I ventured to Jacksons to by a bag of clay with the intention of making a large heavy pottery house number that he couldnt break easily.... But having no idea of what I was doing, the lady at Jacksons offered me her whole studio for sale. So we purchased the entire contents, kiln, pottery wheel, glazes and everything else. No idea of what I was going to do with all this equipment, I found lessons at Guildford village potters. My teacher at the time was Cathy Day. And that was the beginning. I was never really good on the wheel and I couldnt make matching coffee mugs for the life of me. Thats where the hand building began. I love quirkiness and it reflects in most of pottery. Very rarely doing 2 things the same.
