Guildford grown is replacing our Lowman brown laying hens (approx 72 Wks old) and r looking for good homes for our girls. $5/chicken cash only Please BYO box or cage for transporting Pickup on dark 6:30pm tonight 20/4/17 if not all gone tonight will repost tomorr 2km out of Guildford Please msg Tash on 0438360820 with the number of chooks u would like and your name First in best dressed Directions to Guildford Grown - pastured eggs (Tash Ed Tya Jaala and Yarraan's Farm) - Loddonvale 925 Guildford - Newstead rd, Guildford Victoria 0438360820 From Guildford turn West toward Newstead go up over the hill and down other side (approx 1-2kms) then turn right at a big redgum with a fluted driveway entrance and cattle grid (third driveway on right after Stevens lane at top of hill) - one after granite driveway. Ours has 2 wheelie bins permanently at the turn off. Go over cattle grid up hill follow rd to right then back down other side over another cattlegrid and the railway line to little cottage on river flats :) Ps the driveway down the other side is a bit eroded so cars with high clearance preferable if concerned please wait at the top and we could pick u up or u can walk down

20.01.2022 $5 chickens - needing homes this weekend! Considering getting chickens? Or have some that aren’t laying... If so this might be your chance 1. Get your pens/runs built or overhauled and fox proof. 2. Collect some boxes or cages for transporting your new chickens 3. Bring the correct cash $ money please if possible 4. Call and/or text tash with your name number and number of birds u r interested in 5. Please call to arrange date of pickup with Tash Birds will be allocated in a first come first served basis Guildford Grown’s -Pastured Eggs laying flock is due to be retired. We retire our girls after 2 laying seasons when they are 75-85weeks old and no longer considered commercially viable but they will continue to lay good eggs for some years yet after a spell (moult). As chooks age they produce less but larger eggs (more double yolkers) and shell quality can deteriorate making them less suited to commercial production but fine for backyard chooks. 19.01.2022 A big thanks for all of the community support and everyone who adopted hens in the past couple of days! We managed to find homes for all but around 100 (there were 300 needing homes) and now we think we can house them for another few days or so to try to find backyard homes for the rest of the girls. The abattoir man was sadly disappointed to miss out on them but we are thrilled! So, if you know anyone who might be keen for some hens please spread the word and share this post far and wide. 15.01.2022 All of our chickens have found new homes!!! Thankyou everyone who have given or helped our chooks find loving retirement homes!!! Last pickup is tonight and we have been very touched and humbled by the enthusiasm with which our girls have been adopted by our local community -Thankyou!!!... Sorry to those who have missed out this time please stay posted at Guildford Grown for future opportunities to adopt as our girls come of age.
