14.01.2022 Hello, We are in the process of changing our name to ‘ Heritage Towns Toastmasters ‘ to recognise our future and to acknowledge our history. It is very interesting to look at the attached photo’s and reflect that the residents could not possibly envisage a world affected so much by viruses. However they would recognise people learning to adapt to their environment, changes forced abruptly and reluctantly upon them. Successful video conferencing requires a new skill set that many of us thought we would only need intermittently. Visit us on Zoom and see the benefits of this communication medium and how minor tips and tricks will certainly work in your favour.

11.01.2022 Hi everyone, club ‘dues’ are due on the 27th of this month. For those of us who are ( fortunate ) to be working from home, please refer to the ATO page ‘Working from Home during COVID -19’ with special reference to ‘ The Shortcut Method’ , claiming a flat rate of 0.80 cents per hour for each hour worked from home. Are you required to hone your public speaking skills or speak confidently as part of your job? Then your Toastmaster dues is a claimable expense. Pay your dues now, put the receipt in your sock drawer then dig it out at tax time.

09.01.2022 Hello all, Please look back on the last 7 months. Apart from the widely promoted benefits of Toastmasters, please think about how meeting online and face to face may have been one landmark in a boiling sea of uncertainty and unknowns. If you think someone would appreciate the hidden gift of Toastmasters, encourage them to have a look at a club.... Heritage Towns is a perfectly splendid club, but we’re biased. Think about inviting one guest, the Power of One- change someone’s life. Don’t forget the free Pathway on offer. We are still sanitising and following all Health Department advice and will continue to do so until informed otherwise. Act, Belong, Commit.

04.01.2022 Our inaugural online meeting was great fun and an appreciated outlet for those who are working from home and those who have been tragically stood down during this event. Contact us if you would like to log on and we will send you the details and our next catch up ( this Monday 6th April ,7pm)

04.01.2022 From Judith : In spite of the weather and late apologies, we had a very full meeting with three speeches. Sony inspired us with her Icebreaker Speech about her journey to Australia. Paul intrigued us with his research project about a tragic drowning at Trigg Beach in 1947.... Mike shared his knowledge of big planes and explained why they can get off the ground and stay in the air in layman’s terms.
