24.01.2022 So proud to have been a part of the NAIDOC Run Sweat Inspire Festival through The Indigenous Marathon Foundation. Completely my debut marathon right here in Bermagui with the support of so many special Bermagui locals and customers. Thank you.

22.01.2022 During the dark and suffocating days of our black summer, fires tore through vast parts of Australia. Six months on, despite the promise of government assistance and the millions raised and in donations, some are still living without power or water. 'Recovery' is a long way off.

20.01.2022 Closed Sunday 9th August. We are taking tomorrow off with the wild weather that’s arriving- we don’t want to be stuck with another power outage etc. Open Tuesday 11th August instead. ... Here until 3pm today. G-O crew

19.01.2022 We have a change in trade just for this week. Open Tuesday 21st July, 9-1 Wednesday 22nd July, 9-1.... From Friday 24th July, a maximum of 10 people are allowed to dine-in, once this is at capacity it will be takeaway only- in which you must take your drinks away from our premises. 1.5m social distancing is required, inside and outside. Hand sanitising is required. We can only serve one person at a time, that means the next customer must be 1.m away from the counter. We feel this is common sense and really don’t want to have to mark out the floors and counter. A reminder that we are still accepting phone and email orders.

18.01.2022 We saw two in the bay last Monday.

18.01.2022 FARMERS NEED HELP WITH BUMPER HARVESTS Farmers are desperate to find contractors and employees willing to work to make the most of the bumper harvest we'...re about to have. With a shortage of up to 5,000 workers in NSW as a result of COVID-19 border restrictions, the agriculture industry is looking to employ people for fruit picking, grain harvesting and working on a cattle station. If you are looking for employment opportunities, now is a great time to consider agriculture and farm work. Go to the Help Harvest NSW website now: https://bit.ly/32yGReY

17.01.2022 The Governor-General met today with The Indigenous Marathon Foundation to hear about how they are using running to celebrate Indigenous resilience and achieveme...nt, and create inspirational Indigenous leaders. IMF also provide today’s #KindJuly example - Nat Heath, who is a Noongar and Martujarra man who has done some incredible things since participating in the Indigenous Marathon Project in 2012. Each year, the flagship program of Rob de Castella's Indigenous Marathon Foundation sends 12 young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and women to run an international marathon after just six months of training. The successful squad undergo intense training and education, empowering them to be leaders and positive role models in their communities, advocating for healthy lifestyle choices and showcasing the strength and resilience of their people. In 2012, the squad made it to New York ready to run when Hurricane Sandy struck, causing the world's biggest marathon to be cancelled. Determined to not let the storm get the better of them, Nat and the rest of the squad went out to Brooklyn and volunteered helping locals recover. Just a few months later, Nat went on to run the Tokyo Marathon. Since then, he has completed three marathons, two ultra-marathons and six Ironman triathlons. He's the Manager of the Aboriginal Service Team with the NSW Department of Education, and he became the first Aboriginal man on the IMF Board of Directors. Earlier this month, he ran 100km in Newcastle as part of IMF's #RunSweatInspire Festival for NAIDOC Week, raising money for IMF's programs. His goal was to raise $10,000 and run 100km represents representing the ten years the Indigenous Marathon Project has been changing lives. He ran the 100km but didn’t raise $10,000 he smashed that goal and raised nearly $30,000. The impact Nat has, and the impact IMF has across the country, is worth running for.

07.01.2022 Have you seen this crab? A photo was recently taken of what looks like the exotic Asian shore crab at Mount Martha and Rickett’s Point beaches. The species is... not known to be established in Australia and could spread rapidly and consume and outcompete our native species including commercially important scallops, mussels and oysters. Please report any sightings by emailing [email protected], phoning 136 186 or via the Snap, Send Solve app. www.vic.gov.au/marine-pests See more

01.01.2022 "My ancestors were the first people to walk on this land. Those other girls were always going to come up against my ancestors. Who's going to stop me?" 20 years ago Cathy Freeman inspired a nation, and a generation of kids. An extraordinary athlete, humble leader, and the first Aboriginal person to win gold in an individual event at the Olympic Games. Be sure to tune in at 7:40pm tonight to relive the magical moment that truly captured the hearts of our nation. Definitely a must watch for young children who don’t know this incredible woman.
