25.01.2022 Meet the Team: Jason Cortese Jason has been with Gulf Western Oil for over 6 years and is the Warehouse Supervisor at our Shepparton Branch known as Goulburn Valley Oil. Jasons role is quite extensive and no two days are the same for him. He picks and packs orders, he loads and unloads stock, he is the on-site forklift driver and local delivery driver and is also responsible for keeping the warehouse and the work vehicles clean and tidy. Jason loves his job at Gulf Western ...as he enjoys the interaction he has on a daily basis with our customers, he has great friendships with his work colleagues and he gets to deal with high quality products. Jason is very popular amongst our customers, they love his kind and friendly nature and his big big smile. In his spare time, Jason loves catching up with family and friends, doing odd jobs around the house, pottering around in the garden and watching documentaries on engineering and architecture. He is also footy mad and loves the Geelong Cats. During Winter he can usually be found at the MCG cheering the cats on! Interesting Fact: Before joining us at Gulf Western, Jason studied Certificate 3 in Light Vehicle Motor Mechanics but then decided on a career change. Thankfully for us, that career change meant we snapped up an awesome employee! Thanks for all your hard work Jas, we appreciate it!

23.01.2022 This Sunday on 15th November, Gulf Western will be taking part in the 2020 i98FM’s ILLAWARRA CONVOY for charity. The event which is now in its 16th year is all for a great cause, essentially created to support families who are doing it tough due to life-threatening medical conditions, as well as donating to a range of local charities and health facilities. Regrettably, due to COVID-19 restrictions the largest truck and motorbike Convoy in the Southern Hemisphere, from Appin t...o Albion Park, and the free family fun day at Shellharbour Airport will not be going ahead as anticipated. With the backing of the WIN Network and i98FM, the 2020 i98FM Illawarra Convoy event will be replaced with radio & television specials airing the same day as Convoy, Sunday the 15th of November. These specials will feature historical Convoy stories, a virtual convoy concert, stories from the families, charities and hospitals that the Convoy has supported over the years. While 2020 may look a bit different, you can still help from home! 20.01.2022 Meet the Team: David Walton Dave has been with Gulf Western Oil for 5 years and is one of our Sydney based truck drivers. Dave is well known around Sydney as one of the happiest blokes on the road, always sporting a big smile and ready for a chat! Dave loves being a truckie as he gets to meet new people every day, and loves being able to catch up with our regular customers each week. In his spare time, Dave enjoys spending time with his family, playing with his beautiful daug...hter Harlow, riding motorbikes or spending the day at the footy cheering on his beloved Bulldogs. Rumour has it, he is also quite the snooker player and is hard to beat! 14.01.2022 Meet the Team: Rob Greill. Rob has been with Gulf Western since 2016 and is an integral part of our warehouse team at our Sydney blending facility. Rob is one of our all-rounders and can be found doing many different jobs around the place. He can be found filling and packing on our small pack production lines, on the forklifts packing orders or taking care of the yards general cleaning duties. Rob is well known and respected amongst his colleagues for his kind and caring pers...onality and his strong work ethic. Rob is always the first to put up his hand to help with any task and he is always happy and cheerful. Outside of work, Rob enjoys spending time with his family, working in the garden and going to the Drags to see some epic top fuel action! Thanks Rob for your hard work every day!
13.01.2022 MEET THE DISTRIBUTOR Meet our Tasmanian Distributors Brad and Stacey Day of Independent Oils. The Days have owned and operated Independent Oils for almost 23 years and have been a proud distributor of Gulf Western Oil since 2003. Brad, originally an Automotive Mechanic and Stacey, a Health Clinic Receptionist decided all those years ago it was time for a career change and came to the agreement to buy a business. They started out small with an old shed in Burnie and a home... office, where Brad would work full-time servicing the existing customer base and building new relationships while Stacey managed the books and looked after the admin side of things. In 2001, they purchased their own warehouse and relocated to Trevor Street in Ulverstone. To accommodate growth, but allowing them to remain in the same location, they decided to purchase the property next door too. That property now has three warehouse extensions, a brand new showroom, office and meeting room on it! With a team of 18 employees, Brad and Stacey are running a highly successful business that continues to grow substantially each year with an additional two branches now open in Moonah and Invermay. They have achieved an incredible amount over the last 2 decades and we have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of their journey. Independent Oils love being a distributor of Gulf Western for many reasons. They love that they can speak to the Director and their Account Manager whenever they need, they can call through to our Senior Chemist for tech advice at any time and most importantly they love the fact our products are all Australian made. Our relationship with Brad and Stacey is one we are extremely proud of. Two Aussie companies supporting each other to deliver nothing but the best to our customers. 13.01.2022 Meet the Team: Ravi and Roshani Patel Ravi and Roshani are our husband and wife duo here at Gulf Western. Ravi has been with us for 5 years while Roshani joined the team 3 years ago. Ravis role is quite extensive but his primary responsibility is managing the afternoon production line shift which takes care of everything from 1 litre products all the way up to IBC's. Ravi is one of our hardest workers and loves a challenge. He is currently interested in other sectors of the ...business like blending and formulating. He loves his job as no two days are the same and he appreciates how co-operative all of his colleagues are. In his spare time he loves spending time with family and friends and playing soccer and cricket with their son, Dev. Roshani works in our Accounts Department and looks after Accounts Receivables. She also takes care of receipting and daily banking and loves learning new skills within the Accounts area. Roshani is one of the most helpful staff members we have and always puts her hand up to assist wherever she can. She always does so with a big smile on her face too! In her spare time she loves being with family, going on road trips and cooking up a storm at home! Interesting Fact: Before moving to Australia to start a new journey, Ravi worked in the finance sector while Roshani was a primary school teacher. 08.01.2022 Meet the team: Chris and Tony Bright are our father and son duo from QLD! We were lucky enough to snap them both up over 7 years ago as a combo deal! Chris is our QLD State Manager and National Accounts Manager while Tony is our Territory Manager in QLD and for our distributors in NT and SA.... Both of their roles play an integral part in our business and their constant hard work and determination is something we are so grateful for. Both Chris and Tony are both avid golf players and can always be found making someone laugh. When Chris isn’t travelling for work, he spends his time at home with his lovely wife and their 5 young children and when the world is open again for business, Tony will continue to enjoy his overseas trips and adventures. Fun Fact: Chris actually enjoys working on Excel spreadsheets, Power BI and general data analytics and Tony loves heading out for a fish whenever he can. 06.01.2022 Meet the Team: Robert Belic. Robert is our Senior Chemist and Technical Operations Manager. He has been with Gulf Western for 4.5 years but has been in the Lubricants industry for more than 30 years. Robert is our on-site genius and self-proclaimed science nerd. He has University degrees in both Chemistry and Physics and can pretty much answer any question you throw at him! At Gulf Western, Roberts role is extremely extensive. He is mainly involved with formulation developme...nt and working with key technology partners to get their chemistry into the Gulf Western range. He also works a lot with our Production and Planning Teams to ensure that product gets through the plant efficiently which means he is regularly looking at process changes and options that allow us to do what we do well, even better. Robert is even the guy you most likely talk to when you call us for a technical enquiry. What does Robert love the most about working at Gulf Western? the fact that we have such a strong emphasis on quality whilst being flexible and responsive. Apart from filing paperwork, Robert considers the last 4.5 years of working with us as the best years of his career to date. When he isnt busy in the laboratory, he loves to kayak and go camping. A remote area with no phone reception and peace and quiet is his all-time favourite. Interesting fact: Robert originally trained to be a High School Teacher in Science & Maths but saw the light, or more correctly, the dollars as he joined a multi-national oil company whilst finishing off his chemistry degree. Thank you for your hard work each day Robert, we would honestly be lost without you!
