19.01.2022 Gulf Horizons Foundation is actively working towards an action plan to alleviate rural debt, could this be one option to explore? a very interesting article http://www.beefcentral.com.au/p/news/article/2564

14.01.2022 We've been working on a concept to be able to trade a businesses tax credit (accumulated tax losses) against debt to particularly help our farmers get their debt down. This was tabled at a rural debt summit this week and sounds like it has a chance of getting up. Let's hope this concept is taken up by government to help keep our Australian farmers and graziers on their properties. Why is debt ... a issue - increased costs and decreased property values (much of which has been caused by government policy and decisions, not the farmer). Why is it socially important - managing debt and meeting interest payments is a huge issue and having a big impact on peoples health. We want to keep our community healthy and our farmers and graziers are foundational to our community - their disadvantage is shared by all. See more

11.01.2022 Thank you to Lorraine Station for the beautiful hay that arrived today, and Burke and Carpentaria Shires for transport (and Hawkings). Hay is being distributed... as we speak to properties in need. Many still haven't had rain since the extensive fires hit the region last year. Rotary Atherton and Aussie Helpers have been brilliant in the help that they have provided, and the CWA and St Vinnies just outstanding. The Tablelands Hay producers Weilland, Pigolli, Pensini, Gieudas (forgive me for spelling) and all of the truck drivers have been absolutely great to work with. It's been a dry old season not helped by the loss of protein from winter skuds, everyone (fire or no fire) need some rain. See more
