25.01.2022 As we know Richard is sadly leaving us to take on a new chapter in his life. We are looking at planning a farewell get together, early afternoon, on either Sunday 11th or 18th October in either a park or location yet to be determined. Currently with the COVID restrictions we are limited to numbers with anything we want to do, unless this changes beforehand. At this point we ask that it is just the swimmer and 1 parent attend where possible. 25.01.2022 What a great Saturday for our 5 girls. Between them they had 25 races and from this achieved 21 pb's, a gold medal and more qualifying times for states. Awesome work all you hard work is paying off.

21.01.2022 Hi all, unfortunately I have just been advised that the cap has been met for the Somerset meet and they are not taking anymore nominations. The next meet available is at Southport on the 17th October if you still want to compete in a meet.

21.01.2022 Just so all squad parents are aware of the restrictions for squad at the moment Bronze swimmers 1 parents can come in for the session. Silver and gold parents must drop their swimmers at the door and they will be walked back out to them after the session through the exit gate.... At the moment we have up to 2 swimmers per lane socially distanced as this situation is changing quickly I will advise of any changes as they arise

20.01.2022 We have now opened 2 silver sessions during the week Thursday and Friday night 5:30-6:30 due to pool space the first half will be land training the second half will be swim training call asap for a spot as there are limited spaces

19.01.2022 With Queensland Government set to move to Stage 3 from July 11 and likelihood of the approved Swimming Pool & Aquatic Centre Industry Plan to include eased rest...rictions that allow for modified club nights and competitions, Swimming Queensland feel it is now appropriate to provide an update to the 2020 competition schedule. Swimming Queensland Coach Development Director, Drew McGregor, will be hosting an information session to help members understand the planned changes on Wednesday, 24 June at 11:00AM. This session will focus on the amended short course meet dates and development activities and is open to all coaches, athletes, parents and committee members. 15.01.2022 Swimming Gold Coast are working towards getting our swimmers back in the water as soon as it is safe. Our technical officials are ready. In the meantime pleas...e mark these dates in your diaries: SGC AGM - 10th August 2020 How can you help our region. Our notice calling for nominations is out now. Our committee stands down for reappointment and not all of our committee are coming back in roles on the committee. Are you keen to come on board to our Committee or Sub-Committee? Reach out we would love to hear from you. 2020 SGC Welcome Back to Swimming Short Course Invitational - 5th and 6th September 2020 - pending being able to source a pool suitable to meet COVID restrictions. We are working to get this happening but please be patient these things take lots of time to get happening. Stage 3 has just recently come into effect and there is a lot to do to get this to happen if we can. Parent spectators will not be permitted at this event due to our restricted resources for our event. We will be asking parents to help my nominating for a position as a volunteer and this will be limited. Can you assist as a technical official, timekeeper, lane chief, technical official. Without a role you will not be able to attend as a parent. Our goal is to get our swimmers back in the water to have fun racing again and ensuring we meet all the COVID policies set by Qld Health. As always talk to your swimmers coach to see if they feel your swimmer is ready to participate in this event. We want our swimmers to have fun with this event and get back to racing with their friends. Parents we need your help to help run our region so if you can help please reach out to be involved. 10.01.2022 We had our 13 swimmers compete in 62 events yesterday. From this they achieved 47 personal bests and 4 medal placings. Excellent work, keep up your great work. Thanks to Phil for being their to support them.

09.01.2022 2019/2020 End of Season Presentation! So much fun had by all club members that attended our club presentation over the weekend. Great team building exercises with lots of smiles all round. 07.01.2022 From next week Bec will be running a second bronze squad session at 3:30 on Tuesday and wednesday so bronze parents will have the choice of 3:30 and 4 on those 2 days. All silver parents please remember due to our covid safe plan no parents are to come in to the pool area until the end of the session to pick your children up and walk them out the exit door only. This and the times will need to continue until we are free from covid restrictions.... Gold parents your swimmers will be walked out to you at the end of the session.

07.01.2022 An email has been sent out today. I would just like to thank everyone who has been with me over the last 7 years helping with the club and all the swimmers and families I have coached over the time. I will be leaving gullivers after our swimmers compete at states from the 24th of September.... I have taken a position in Brisbane so I am closer to my son. I will be leaving the squad and club in good hands. Lloyd Rhodes will be taking all squads from the 5th of October, Lloyd was my swim coach and is still my mentor coach helping me to improve in my coaching over the years. I wish everyone luck for the future and hope to see you all around at swim meets. Richard

Saturday Morning squads We have had a change in the times for Saturday morning squads from this Saturday Silver will be from 8-9 ... Bronze will be 9-9:30 There will be no gold squad on Saturdays for now. I hope everyone has a great school holidays and I will see you all on the first day back at school. Richard
