02.01.2022 Yaama This tree is known to the Garangai People as Grandmother Tree, she stands as guardian for the sacred women's healing area and men's learning area nea...r Kariong and is in danger from development being sought by the local land council. I know this area is controversial because of the less traditional and more recent engravings that are found there, since Auntie Beve passed over there has also been contention as to who's land it is to protect or develop. In my opinion as a man from nearby Gadigal country this site is an important meeting place and birthing/healing area that needs to be protected from any development no matter who proposes it.
