15.01.2022 This koala is angry and so are we. The driver who hit her in the Adelaide Hills today swerved into an oncoming lane on the wrong side of the road to do so. The ...witness who called the 24/7 AKR Hotline to report the incident had been desperately trying to save her. She was clearly seen crossing Onkaparinga Valley Road but he just couldn’t get to her before she was struck. The poor witness stayed with her for the brief time it took for help to arrive. If any other witnesses observed the northbound white flat tray ute who hit her at approximately 3:20pm today just south of the Woodside/Quarry Road roundabout please call Crimestoppers on 1 800 333 000. Arizaan was rushed to the AKR Clinic and is currently being treated by our vet team. To report a koala hit by car call AKR 24/7 on 0413 185 771 To contribute towards treatment of Arizaan visit akr.org.au/donate #arizaan #lobethal #woodside #charleston #mounttorrens #onkaparingavalleyroad #hitandrun #dangerousdriving #crimestoppers #akr #akrclinic #adelaidehills #adelaidehillscouncil

08.01.2022 Important information - Gumeracha A&E After careful consideration and planning, BHFLHN is reopening the accident and emergency (A&E) service at Gumeracha Di...strict Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital at 8:00am on Monday, 8 February 2021. This decision is a result of a staged review of the A&E services which were temporarily closed in response to COVID-19 emergency management directives, in an effort to protect our vulnerable residents of co-located residential aged care facilities. The Gumeracha A&E has been selected to reopen due to its geographic location, broad service profile and with the support of local general practitioners to re-establish their on-call roster At this time, temporary A&E service closures remain in place at Eudunda Hospital, Strathalbyn and District Health Service and Mount Pleasant District Hospital. BHFLHN is continuing to consult with our hospital staff and health service partners, including general practitioners and the SA Ambulance Service, to ensure any further re-openings are done so safely, sustainably and with the appropriate level of resourcing and medical workforce support. We are closely watching COVID-19 developments interstate and will reassess all decision making and precautionary measures accordingly. Always call Triple Zero (000) in a medical emergency. In a mental health emergency, call 13 14 65. Those requiring non-emergency medical attention should visit their local GP, dentist or pharmacy. Welcome back, Gumeracha A&E! Please like and SHARE this post to help us spread the word! Pictured at Gumeracha A&E: Alison Kay, Enrolled Nurse; and Melissa Salmon, Associate Nurse Unit Manager.
