25.01.2022 Today, as part of our Children's Wellbeing Program, some of the 4 year olds had their vision screened. There will be another opportunity in November for those children who couldn't make it today or who will turn 4 by the end of the year.

24.01.2022 Congratulations, Colin! You've done it again! Another 5 star rating after our annual Food Safety and Hygiene inspection today.

23.01.2022 Witches, Wizards and Everything Ghoulish This was another fantastic opportunity to dress up and have lots of fun. The week was a huge success because of the effort the parents went to to get their children involved.

23.01.2022 We are proud to have been nominated for, and to be a finalist in, the Hawkesbury Local Business Awards. Thank you to everyone who nominated us - we really appreciate your support.

20.01.2022 Teddy Bears' Picnic This was held on 25 October in conjunction with Children's Week. The children were invited to dress up each day during the week in their favourite character costumes; and to invite one of their special teddies from home to join them for a picnic. Picnic food was laid out with plates, cups, bottles and spoons for the children to feed their special friends. Some of the children displayed some lovely nurturing skills; and there was a lot of conversation about what the special friends should eat.

19.01.2022 A Winter's Day After a very chilly start to the day of minus 1, we still managed to get outside to enjoy the sunshine. This was a welcome break from the last few very cold, windy days.

19.01.2022 Merry Christmas to all our Gumleaf families around the world. Have a wonderful Christmas Day tomorrow filled with peace and laughter, and stay safe over the holiday break.

18.01.2022 Today we had another very successful family activity morning. Our theme was Creative Expression and based on what we saw we seem to have some very creative parents attending the centre. It was so inspiring to see the parents working with their children on projects which resulted in some interesting and colourful pieces. Thanks to Mason's Uncle Dan who manned the recycled materials centre to help the children make some wonderful creations.

16.01.2022 If you want an understanding of what Autism is all about, please watch and learn. This site is a wealth of information.

14.01.2022 Our children learning through play

14.01.2022 Rio Olympic Games 2016 Over the past two weeks the children have participated in their own Mini Olympics and learned about the importance of competing rather than winning as they watched the athletes from around the world complete in many events. Our Mini Olympics consisted of events which matched the Olympic Games (hockey, basketball, shot put and javelin) plus a few games we added to enhance the children's developing skills, such as egg and spoon race and bowls. ... We had an opening ceremony (including a torch relay), medal presentations, and a closing ceremony with national costumes and flags.

13.01.2022 It's good news week! To all those mums and dads struggling to entertain the children during the school holidays, Gumleaf re-opens on Monday 16 January. If you have any queries beforehand, please feel free to email and I will respond as soon as possible.

12.01.2022 Happy New Year everyone. Wishing you a year of good health, peace and joy, and may all your dreams come true.

11.01.2022 If you are viewing our Facebook page for the first time, welcome. The aim of our Facebook page is to keep the community informed about our high quality program and our commitment to providing an environment where the children will thrive. If you are considering enrolling your child in preschool, scroll through our photos to view previous activities and to get a feel for how your child could benefit from our daily program. Please feel free to make an appointment, or just ...pop in, to discuss how we can provide for you and your child. You might want to talk about our healthy nutritious meals; our online portfolios which can be accessed 24/7; our environmental, physical and sensory programs; the systems in place to support children with additional needs; or how the preschool program is conducted. Whatever you want to know, we are here to help. See more

10.01.2022 Community Involvement Over the past few weeks we have included activities based on our community involvement and health and well being programs. Some of our 4 year olds had their eyes screened through the Statewide Eyesight Preschooler Screening program. ... We had a 'Compost Critters' incursion during which the children continued their environmental sustainability program and were able to make a mini compost rocket which they will manage over the next few weeks. And, we enjoyed a visit from the 'Living Safely with Dogs' program team. There were two programs - one for the parents and one for the children.

09.01.2022 Enjoying outdoor play After the extreme heat we have experienced over the past week, it was so good to be able to get outside to let off some steam. Unfortunately the garden has taken a bit of a beating from the heat so we decided to start the tidy up process by firstly pulling up the carrots. We certainly had a bit of a laugh at the size and odd shapes of the carrots, but nevertheless the boys still wanted to take their carrots home with them.

06.01.2022 Today, at 11.00am, we joined thousands of children across Australia to participate in Simultaneous Storytime. Prior to the reading, some of the children made pirate hats (one of the hats mentioned in the story) and proudly wore their hats while they listened to 'I Got this Hat'.

06.01.2022 Sorry it's taken a while to load this post but I haven't been able to upload any photos to Facebook. All of a sudden this afternoon, we're back in business. Pirate Week Ahoy there, me hearties! What a grand week we had doing everything good pirates do. The little sprogs lined up for basic pirate training, and if they didn't get it right they had to walk the plank. We had it all - treasure maps, pirate ships, pirate food and fantastic pirate costumes.

04.01.2022 To all our wonderful mothers and grandmothers .....

03.01.2022 The Great Outdoors! After days of torrential rain and flooding it was great to be able to get outside to play in the sunshine yesterday, so we set up a camping site with tents, sleeping bags, lanterns, bar-b-ques, and loads of food. The kids had a ball. Today we decided to continue the experience but we took the great outdoors inside because of the 'iffy' weather.

02.01.2022 Winter and Outdoor Play Although we have had some very cold mornings, we still usually manage to get out to play by 10.30am once it has warmed up. We have some very active children so we like to play outdoors as often as possible to burn off some of that energy, and just to enjoy being outside.
