Sadly people have lost so much and we would like to be able to help those affected with the assistance of all our Gumnut family . We are currently seeking Diploma Qualified Educators, who love what they do for casual roles. We have various positions available across our age groups, as our occupancy boosts. ... 11.01.2022 Today is a great day to reflect on why friendship is so important for children. For children, friendship is a vital part of their mental, physical and social development. Children require opportunities to play together in order to form bonds of friendship. Through friendships, children learn how to negotiate with others in social situations. They also improve their physical health by competing with their peers in games and pushing the boundaries of their physical abilities. F...riendships during early childhood are a vital part of a childs emotional growth and promote good mental health. Through friendship and play, toddlers and young children learn to interpret social cues and learn to interact with others. Children are naturally inclined to think mostly about themselves and their own needs. Through childhood friendships, children learn how to understand what others are feeling and how their actions can impact others. Friendship teaches children empathy which is a valuable life skill that helps them understand why someone is experiencing a particular feeling. Childhood friendships forged in the boisterous environment of play also build a sense of security in children. They are able to create stronger bonds with their peers, as well as with their caretakers and educators. 07.01.2022 We have been talking about some of the focus items we would like to have on the agenda at Gumnut moving forward and one of them is to be more involved as a whole in supporting our wider community. Some of the things we would like to work on with our families and children are: -Being a portal for collection drives (EG:Christmas collections for the less fortunate Collection for bushfire victims etc) -Sharing awareness of already established community fundraisers -Sponsorship o...f a child/children overseas -Having our children visit aged care facilities -Collecting for food hampers for the homeless These are just some of the ideas already thrown out there and of course our main aim is to help the community while also teaching the children valuable life lessons about Community spirit and compassion for others. How can you help? -By contributing to our collection drives -Helping us spread the word with specific collections we do -Talk to your children about the value and importance about what they are helping us achieve in the community. So we thought there is no time like the present, We have done some research and we have now joined up with our local RFS. What happens is we ask all families and community members to bring in a non perishable items such as *bottled water. *fruit cups. *poppers *small packets of chips *anything they can grab and snack on the go. *fruit *coffee sachets *electrolyte powder If you would like to help us out with the collection then please bring your items in by Friday the 24th of December. 06.01.2022 Dear Parents/guardians, We have had a number of parents ask what will happen to fees if they choose to keep their children home for precaution of COVID-19. Families will still be charged for the days they choose to keep their children home as they will be marked as absent but if our centre chooses to close on our own discretion or the government advises us to shut down, you will not need to pay fees. You will still be receiving CCS if your child does not attend. Please be ad...vised you are eligible for 42 absent days in a financial year before you are required to pay full fees If the centre has to close on direction of health department then you can claim CCS. We wont claim CCS if the centre voluntarily closes. We aim to stay open to cater for all of our families.
