23.01.2022 Thought we would post this again with the fire season coming up THE IMPORTANCE OF CRATE TRAINING One of our fellow Vizsla owners who live on the the South Coast of NSW is now on thier 4th night at the evacuation centre in Bega.... This photo was taken at around 1pm yesterday. A tip for those who are not into using a dog crate, you may never know when you are put into a situation where you need to keep your dog secure and safe. She is very proud of her 8 dogs who range in age from 3 to 12 1/2. They are spending a very long time in crates and are very settled. To all vizsla and dog owners between Mallacoota and Nowra, please stay safe. And to others affected by fires stay safe. 'posted with permission of the owner'

17.01.2022 Jan and Peter Smith's reply to their Life Membership: Peter and I (Jan) wish to thank the Gundog Club of SA for awarding us Life Membership of the club. I met Peter at the South Australian Obedience Dog Club where he was an instructor and also trialing his Black Labrador to UD level. He then took on me and my Boxer. When both these dogs passed, I converted him to Boxers.... In 2000 our daughter Kim, started successfully showing her Viszla, Nagy in the Gundog group, so each show would be sitting with that group. Some years later, we acquired a new Boxer, so we were then between Groups 3 & 6. The Gundog Obedience Club was training at West Beach, so we moved to that club as it was close to where we live. Whilst we do not have a Gundog, we have been involved with the club in one way or another for about 20 years. We are exceptionally proud and humble to have been awarded Life Membership of this club and thank all those concerned. Jan and Pete.
