24.01.2022 The NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) confirms that a NSW RFS volunteer firefighter has died this evening near Jingellic. A further two firefighters on the same ...truck have suffered burns and are being conveyed to hospital. The firefighters were working on the Green Valley, Talmalmo Fire, approximately 70km east of Albury when it’s believed that the truck rolled when hit by extreme winds associated with the fire. A second vehicle working in the same area was also blown over and the firefighter on board has been transported to hospital. 11.01.2022 Absolutely heartbreaking news. Thoughts to all the families and fellow Brigade Members at this time :-(

08.01.2022 Crews are on scene at a fire near Dunns Road Ellerslie. Residents along Yaven Creek Rd, Ellerslie Rd should enact their bushfire survival plan and follow directions of fire fighters. The Fire is in pine plantation and is moving to the south east.

07.01.2022 One of Fire and Rescue NSW’s strike teams were impacted by a fire front on the outskirts of South Nowra, south of HMAS Albatross, on Hames Road at approximately... 3.00pm today. The crews were protecting properties when two of their trucks came into the direct path of fire. Crews were forced to shelter in their trucks as the fire front passed through. Another truck was nearby but unable to get through to assist due to the intensity of the fire. Once the fire front passed, firefighters were able to get out of their trucks and make their way to safety. The trucks were unable to be saved. Crews have been transported to Nowra Fire Control Centre for assessment by NSW Ambulance. Fortunately, there are no physical injuries however four firefighters have been transported to hospital as a precautionary measure. #NSWFires #NSW #ProtectTheIrreplaceable

05.01.2022 MOTOR DRIVERS PERSPECTIVE: As 'C' Platoon was nearing the end of their shift at the Ruined Castle Fire in Katoomba, Runner 1 was responded to Bells Line of Road..., Bilpin and formed as part of Strike Team 'Golf'. As you can hear by the radio messages, a massive bush fire being fanned by gusting winds was threatening life and property. What follows is the lights and siren run behind Fire and Rescue NSW Station 014 Ashfield as we prepare to enter the Bilpin fireground. The scenes following are of the crew of Runner 1 performing property protection with Fire and Rescue NSW Station 043 Seven Hills. It may be hard to see, but if you look closely, there is fire everywhere. Everything around us at this time, whether it was a shed, car or house was catching fire. We then ran out of water as there was no hydrants near by, a house caught alight and our crew began an internal attack using water from Pump 43 Seven Hills. This house was saved due to a combined effort of the crews on scene. As nightfall comes, the fire is still burning intensely, however it is burning in steep terrain, inaccessible for our appliances, so we instead run large diameter hose or look for a static water supply to fight the fire with a portable pump. Our Fire and Rescue NSW crews all over the state train for this and we complete various bush fire drills over the fire danger period to stay prepared. An amazing effort from all crews on the fireground in some seriously dangerous conditions.

04.01.2022 Happy New Year to all our residents and surrounding community members. Tanker 313 and crew has returned to the Dunn’s rd fire to continue the fight with strike team Tango. As all are well aware there is a lot of heavy smoke around today so we advise you all to keep out of it when possible to avoid any health concerns. Here’s to getting on top of these fires all over our state and moving forward in 2020!! Best wishes to everyone. Regards Station 313 members

04.01.2022 *PSA* It's NYE and we all love a party, but the country is on fire and we've all got our rings hanging out. Please use your head and keep your illegal firewo...rks packed away and bonfires on hiatus until this intense fire period passes. We are having another heartbreaking day in Comms with people losing homes and lives, and with everywhere a tinderbox at present it won't take much for a spark to take off. Anyway - that's my request. Have a brew tonight for me and #giveafirieahug cos we need one See more
