18.01.2022 Each and every year since 1981, the P&C of Gundaroo Public School run a popular Quiz Night to raise important funds for the benefit of students. Over the previous few years, this has included the creation of our Multi-Purpose room (kitchen, art room, science lab, technology space), class sets of iPads and laptops; all of which would not be possible without this fantastic event. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are unable to run the Quiz Night this year. In its ...place, we have decided to run a Silent Auction to ensure a form of fundraising in 2020. All funds raised this year will be utilised to create a film studio and robotics maker space which would be an amazing asset for our students. There are many fantastic items available to bid on, all having been generously donated by members of our community. If you would like to place a bid on items, please head to our website: https://myminiauction.com/gundaroopandc The auction closes at 5pm on Friday November 6th so place your bids, and don’t forget to keep checking back in to make sure you haven’t been outbid. Winners will be announced via the Gundaroo Colonial Inn’s live Facebook stream on Friday 6th November, alongside their usual Friday night raffle. We thank you in advance for your generous support.

18.01.2022 We're looking forward to welcoming all students back full time from Monday! https://education.nsw.gov.au//nsw-students-return-to-the-c

13.01.2022 Today marks the beginning of Reconciliation Week. This week, and every day, we acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land that we are on and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. Today, May 27th is the anniversary of the historic 1967 Referendum, where more than 90 percent of Australian voters chose ‘Yes’ to count Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the census and give the Australian Government the power to make laws for Aboriginal and Torres... Strait Islander peoples. Reconciliation Week culminates on June 3rd. On this day in 1992, the High Court of Australia decided that terra nullius should not have been applied to Australia. This decision recognised that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have rights to the land; rights that existed before the British arrived and can still exist today. The theme for Reconciliation Week is ‘In This Together’. It is only when we all come together as a society and contribute to reconciliation that progress will be made. Spend some time this week peeling back the layers of Australia’s history and discover something you didn’t know; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander rights to land and sea; understanding of the impact of government policies and frontier conflicts; and stories of Indigenous success and contribution. Share it with your children, family and friends, and contribute to reconciliation in Australia.

10.01.2022 We are looking forward to welcoming all students back to school on Monday. It will be wonderful to see everyone together again after such a long break, and no doubt all parents are also looking forward to some quieter time at home! Some things to know for Monday: - Children do not need to bring their own devices to school; learning will resume as normal.... - All borrowed devices need to be returned to school - first to the Office so they can be signed off the borrowing register. - Children should bring with them on Monday their learning from home packs, any school exercise books, readers etc. - Children should ensure they bring a full waterbottle to school each day as bubblers are unable to be used. Waterbottles can be filled up in the classrooms. - School assemblies and any other whole-school events are cancelled until further notice. - Our school times and lunch breaks will not be staggered and will remain as normal. We are confident with our relatively low student population, large playground and multiple entry and exit points we can maintain adequate social distancing. - If children are unwell, they should be kept at home until symptoms resolve. Parents of any student who presents with cold and/or flu symptoms will be called to collect their child. - Parents and any other visitors to the school are asked to remain outside the school gates unless necessary. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Have a great weekend!
