22.01.2022 Join us in congratulating members of our coaching team who have just finished year 12 and are graduating this week and next! Isha, Harry, Sarah and Abbey 2020 will go down in history for many reasons but finishing school during a global pandemic, lockdowns and everything else that 2020 has thrown at us is a huge achievement and we are so proud of you all! We look forward to seeing where your next journey takes you.
22.01.2022 Preparing for term 4 means coach professional development day! We are so lucky to lead a team of brilliant coaches who are engaged, keen and come to every PD day to learn and share ideas to make our programs even better. Today we assessed our personality type and the impact it might have on coaching, discussed in detail behaviour management strategies and ideas and then 3 full hours of skill work led by coach Nick. The collaborative approach the entire team took was great to witness and we are all ready to welcome our gymnasts back for term 4 from Monday.
21.01.2022 Make sure you check out The Canberra Times today as some of our Friday Preschool stars make an appearance with coaches Mitch and Tyson!

18.01.2022 We are missing our gymnastics family immensely at present but have been so excited to see so many in our Google Classrooms doing the various activities on offer. Keep up the good work! Many have been asking about when we might be able to re open for classes. We are monitoring this situation very closely and eagerly await the outcomes of tomorrows National Cabinet meeting where possible lifting of restrictions around indoor sport is being considered. We have studied in detai...l the guidelines released by the AIS and are putting in place plans to how we can potentially offer limited classes within the guidelines. We will communicate to all members as and when we have a clear pathway for opening. In the mean time, get on the google classroom! There is so much more content coming shortly and we want to see you guys uploading lots of videos, asking questions and doing the challenges.

15.01.2022 Happy birthday is hard to say today as it isn't a happy day for Gungahlin Gymnastics but please join us in wishing Joel our Director/ Head Coach a great birthday. He is always ready to catch us, now more than ever
15.01.2022 We know our gymnasts are probably going a bit crazy at home and with no gym, feeling a bit like they have ants in their pants! Relief is in sight...... our coaches are currently working on a suite of skill videos, challenges and games in our own Gungahlin Gymnastics Google Classroom. Over coming days we will launch the classroom which has a special classroom for each level to all members. We hope this will help the kids remain active and engaged with gymnastics during the shutdown. Stay tuned to your email and if you don't already have one, setup a gmail account so you can access the classrooms once they are released!
14.01.2022 Dear Gymnastics Families We have been dreading preparing such an email to you, our Gungahlin Gymnastics family. We have this evening sat together as the Moss family of three to try and comprehend what this means for Gungahlin Gymnastics with heavy hearts. Based on the announcement by the ACT Government today that all non essential services must cease, we will of course comply and effective tomorrow, Monday 23 March 2020, no classes will proceed until further notice. We unres...ervedly support the Government's decision to shutdown non essential services in the short and long term for the safety of our community. What this means for Gungahlin Gymnastics in the short and long term we do not know. It is our absolute goal to somehow weather this storm and be able to open our doors again in the future. With the cancellation of classes for our members, our immediate priority now moves to our staff and how we can support them. We employ 41 staff in total, 7 permanent staff and the rest casual ranging in age from 16 to 45. We met with our entire team yesterday to go through worst case scenarios and made a commitment to them that we are going to do everything we can as Owners / Directors to support them. Once we get over the hurdle of the next few days and what this shut down means for our club and our staff, we will commence plans for video training sessions, games and other online resources to keep our gymnasts active and busy. We do ask for your patience over coming weeks in terms of correspondence and responding to emails as we work our way through the many effects this shutdown will have for our club. We will continue to communicate with all families as soon as we have been able to comprehend our next steps. We wish everyone all the very best personally at this time of immense uncertainty and hope that we will one day see everyone back at the gym, healthy, happy and excited for gymnastics. Kind regards Joel & Megan Moss Directors Gungahlin Gymnastics

10.01.2022 Please join us in welcoming Nick to the team! Nick has made the very brave decision to move all the way to Canberra from Cairns to join our team as a Senior Coach full time. His introduction to Canberra has involved the dry heat of 40 degrees, out of control bushfires, shops being open all hours, Costco and Ikea so far. We can't wait to introduce him to a Canberra winter! Nick is a very experienced coach who comes to us with a passion for knowledge and progressions in gymnastics. Nick will primarily be working with our competitive boys program but if you see him around the gym, make sure to say hi and welcome him to Canberra and the Gungahlin Gymnastics family.
10.01.2022 Tune in to 106.3 now!

07.01.2022 What can we say except THANK YOU!!!! A year like no other but we could not have made it to today without the support of our gymnastics family - our gymnasts, coaches, support staff and our own families. From our family to yours, stay safe and have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. See you in 2021!
07.01.2022 Today is our 5th birthday! 5 years ago today we opened our doors and commenced classes with just 180 gymnasts, 2 coaches (Joel and Megan) and 21 classes. Many of you will remember the old "small" gym - we fit so much into that tiny space! We now have two gyms and prior to our closure, had 1435 members and 243 classes on the timetable. What a roller coaster it has been. Our growth in 5 years has been astronomical and watching kids grow up before our eyes and loving gymnastics has been so rewarding. While we can't celebrate with everyone here at the gym right now, we hope you enjoy this little video that showcases where we have come from and what we have to return to once this crisis passes. We are missing everyone so much. https://www.facebook.com/gunggymnastics/videos/870177276781806/
06.01.2022 As we prepare to welcome all of our members back to gym for Term 3, we are looking for some new team members keen to help kids lay the foundations for life through gymnastics. If you know someone who loves seeing kids have fun, grow and develop, get them to apply to join our team. https://au.indeed.com/job/gymnastics-coach-f26a187cd874f291
06.01.2022 Welcome to 2020! We look forward to welcoming our returning and new gymnasts for week 1 of term 1.
06.01.2022 At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them. Thank you for you service. In these very challenging times our thoughts today turn to our Gungahlin Gymnastics families who have family members currently deployed away from home, serving our nation. Stay safe and see you soon.
06.01.2022 Join in with Gymnastics NSW athletes tomorrow morning. Remaining active at times like this is critical so get the whole family involved and share your pics here!
06.01.2022 Unlucky day on high bar for Coach Tyson. Big skills = big risks but we are still so proud!
06.01.2022 Gungahlin Gymnastics located in North Canberra is looking to appoint a full time coach who embraces fun and wants to coach in a positive, athlete centred club. The role will primarily work with our WAG National Level 3/4 groups and development squads plus a few recreational classes on various days. We are a family owned and operated club and our vision is "Laying the foundations for life through gymnastics". We have grown rapidly since we opened 5 years ago from a team of 2 ...coaches and 180 gymnasts to now having 40 coaches, 1500 gymnasts and two fully equipped gymnastics centres. We are looking for someone who is keen to make coaching their full time occupation and who wants to be part of a program that values fun as number one while creating empowered and smart gymnasts who have a strong desire to learn. We want someone part of our team who is positive, warm and encouraging at all times and is keen to see the culture of the sport change for the better and will lead by example. Our national levels program is small and still young however this position will provide the right person with an opportunity to help build the program in a positive environment. We pride ourselves on our gymnasts having fun and your ability to think outside the square and make sessions fun for the gymnasts will be your key to success in the role. The role requires a minimum of an intermediate WAG qualification with the candidate either working towards or ready to commence their advanced WAG accreditation. We offer opportunities to further develop your skills and experience in not only coaching but also in the management of a large club (1500 gymnasts). Salary is dependent on skills and experience and will be negotiated with the preferred candidate. Relocation costs for a candidate located outside of Canberra will also be considered as part of the employment package. We are not in a position to offer visa sponsorship and this role is only suitable for Australian citizens or permanent residents. If this position sounds like it might fit your future plans, drop us an email at [email protected] so we can have a chat.
05.01.2022 Thank you Gungahlin Gymnastics family, we are feeling the love tonight!

We can't wait to see videos and pictures of our Kindergym kids doing their activities at home.
04.01.2022 Our Google classroom is coming along and we hope to launch it very soon! In addition to skills, we also have some challenges, word searches and colouring in to keep the kids busy.

02.01.2022 Today we welcome back our competitive levels gymnasts and adult gymnastics in the first stage of our re-opening. We are so excited to see everyone again. We have been closed for 10 weeks, 10 long and trying weeks for our entire team. Thankfully however, this has been much shorter than initially anticipated. We thank all of our members and their families for their support during this time. It is our gymnastics family that has got us through this tough period and kept the light on at the end of this tunnell. Remember to read our COVID safe plan and the kids poster to ensure everyone is aware of the new procedures. See you soon!
02.01.2022 Bookings are now open for our July School Holiday programs! https://gungahlingymnastics.com.au/HolidayProgram.html
02.01.2022 A message to our community..... We commend Gymnastics Australia for their steps in supporting athletes who have suffered abuse while participating in gymnastics and we strongly commend all athletes who have spoken out regarding the negative culture that has existed for decades within gymnastics, particularly at the elite level. One of the very reasons Gungahlin Gymnastics exists is to provide a FUN, safe and positive environment for people of all ages and abilities to parti...cipate in what we believe is the best sport in the world. Our values proudly hang on the walls of our facilities to guide us each and every day. Our Head Coach / Director Joel trained alongside many of the girls who have spoken out and having been witness to the effects of the culture and behaviour on gymnasts, he made it his mission that Gungahlin Gymnastics would be a club where FUN is number one, our training environment is positive and our gymnasts are supported to achieve THEIR personal best at any level. We are proud of our culture at Gungahlin Gymnastics and we work hard every day to contribute to changing the wider culture of the sport by leading by example. Our club will never be an environment where over training, fear, intimidation and abuse is accepted and the norm. We will continue to pursue an environment that we believe supports our members to achieve their personal best now and in the future and supports our gymnasts to lay the foundations for their life through gymnastics.
02.01.2022 Here is a little video from our Google Classroom Project Leader Lydia. If you haven't accessed your classroom yet, do it now as there is so much content coming over the next few weeks. With kids heading back to school, they will need some after school activities to keep them busy......our Google Classroom is here for you! We have so many plans so jump in now.
02.01.2022 We are so excited to welcome our families back to gym for Term 4 and to welcome just over 100 brand new members to the Gungahlin Gymnastics family. Classes commence today and we are almost at capacity across 245 classes. This will be our biggest start to a term ever and we are so pleased to have bounced back so quickly after the COVID shutdown. Let's have some fun!
01.01.2022 Less than one hour until our Chat with Champions Zoom session. Not only are we looking forward to hearing from our panel of 4 Champions but also seeing our gymnasts smiling faces!
01.01.2022 Gungahlin Gymnastics families, please refer to your email for an update from our team on the Novel Coronavirus.
