25.01.2022 G'day parkrunners, preliminary results are up, but you may notice there are a bunch missing. This was my fault, I missed one of the results files. I have since resubmitted the results but it is taking time for them to get processed. Please be patient before sending us any messages about missing results. I can't say how long it will be. Andrew

17.01.2022 Hi Gungahlin parkrunners, I'm sure you're all wondering what impact covid-19 might have on our parkrun. Please read the linked item from parkrun HQ for the latest official information. This bulletin will be updated as new developments come to hand. It is likely parkrun will be affected, especially if group limits of 100 come into effect. The situation seems to change by the day, but at this point, parkrun will happen this coming weekend. Also note we could experience last min...ute volunteer withdrawals due to sickness. This happened last parkrunday. If you're not planning to run or you are injured, please consider being available to be a standby volunteer. Until then stay well, Andrew Gardner, ED. https://www.parkrun.com/news/2020/03/12/covid-19/ See more

15.01.2022 G'day Gungahlin parkrunners. Well it's parkrunday eve again. We're still in need of a photographer for tomorrow, so if you can help, please respond to the previous post and our volunteer coordinator will be happy to talk to you about it. Don't forget to check-in with "Check In CBR" app before, during or after the event. If you can point your phone at the QR code below, then you're also qualified to be our photographer, so please consider. See you at the starting line tomorrow ! Andrew, Event Director Gungahlin parkrun

11.01.2022 Great work to all the non-parkrunners out there last week. We saw a healthy jump in numbers with 37 unique runners who recorded a total of 66 runs between them. (If you're confused: you can record more than one run each week) This puts Gungahlin just outside the top 10 for participation in Australia which is a fantastic result. So keep up the running, and I know you're very much looking forward to when we can all run together again. In other news, if you haven't visited the Gungahlin briefing area recently, it has undergone a make-over. There is now a sculpted play area and garden taking up about 1/2 of the briefing area. It might be a bit more cozy in future but I'm sure we'll manage ! Happy running, Andrew, ED

10.01.2022 G'day Gungahlin parkrunners. This coming parkrunday, Dec 5, would normally be our PB Challenge week with pacers. We will not be holding the PB challenge for the near future as it goes against social distancing principles by encouraging runners in groups. We will resume PB challenge week on the first of the month as soon as we can. Thanks for your understanding. Andrew Gardner, Event Director

02.01.2022 Gungahlin Parkrun 14 March 2019

02.01.2022 G'day parkrunners, An update from parkrun HQ: Today’s update is to notify you that all parkrun events will now continue to be suspended until at least the end of April. This is in order to keep all parkrun countries following the same timeline for the moment, although we do expect suspensions to go beyond April.... Since deciding to close our events we have been working incredibly hard to action that decision, understand the implications of making it, and provide immediate support to parkrun communities around the world. And, with all events suspended, we are now able to begin work developing our strategy for supporting our communities during this difficult time and, one day, re-launching. Going forward we will be publishing a global parkrun update every Tuesday (UK time), on the parkrun.com news page.

02.01.2022 G'day Gungahlin parkrunners and everyone else. Andrew your ED here. I hope you're all staying well and fit. Just a reminder that you can still have a regular parkrun experience by doing a 5K run at a time and place of your choice then entering it as a "(not) parkrun" result every week. The results will be registered against your profile and your home parkrun. It's a great way to stay fit, in-touch and compare against other runners until we can have our regular Saturday parkru...n again. Once you've recorded your time, go to: https://www.parkrun.com/profile/notparkrun login using your parkrun-id and password and enter your time. Easy ! We only have about 20 Gungahlin parkrunners doing this currently and we'd like to see many more. So don't hold back. Stay safe, Andrew Gardner, ED Gungahlin parkrun ps. We know you're wondering when we will be able to restart parkrun. Please see the latest COVID-19 updates from parkrun HQ as these will give you the best indication of when this will be in the parkrun AU blog: https://blog.parkrun.com/au/

02.01.2022 Our next kids take over the volunteer roster day will be Saturday the 11th of April (Easter Saturday) If your junior parkrunner would like to take on one of the following roles please comment below: Run Brief Jessica Pounds... Timekeeper Marshal #1 (Horse Park Dr) Marshal #2 (Out n Back) Josh Cashmere Marshal #3 (Mirrabei) Xavier O'Brien Tail Walker: Isabelle O'Brien Finish Tokens Barcode Scanner #1 Felix Akhurst Barcode Scanner #2 Token Sorter Molly Akhurst Photographer Of course, parkrunners of all ages are encouraged to volunteer at any time of the year. Please check out our roster at https://www.parkrun.com.au/gungahlin/futureroster/ and let us know via FB message or email if you would like to fill a spot Cheers, Bec

01.01.2022 G'day parkrunners ! This coming parkrunday is Feb 29, a date you only get to run every 4 years and then only if it is a Saturday. So to celebrate we will have "Leap for Leapday" photos. Our photographer will be about 50M from the finish line at the end of the flying fox ready to capture you in flight. There will be chalk markings in the lead up to the spot so you will know just when to jump. Please only jump if you can do so and it will not cause injury to yourself and/or others. But above all else, have fun and make sure you complete your walk/run. See you all there !
