04.01.2022 YES-WE ARE OPEN! We have had numerous calls and queries over the last week about our ability to stay open and continue to provide veterinary care for your pet during these tough times. The Australian Veterinary Association has done a lot of lobbying on our behalf and we can confirm that veterinary practices all over Australia are classed as " Essential services". We are very grateful for this as we were very anxious about the care of our patients, should we were to close temp...orarily. Our opening hours will remain the same for now. From Monday (30/03/2020) we will split into 2 teams. One team of vets and nurses at our Kingsway Clinic and one team at our Gungurru Clinic in Hocking. During this time we will not have any social, physical or close contact at all between the 2 teams. This arrangement gives us lots of options for any unfortunate circumstances. Dr Innis will be based at the Gungurru Clinic, together with Dr Dale and Sarah, Monique and Tayla- our veterinary nurses. Drs Sam, Kishani and Colette will be at Kingsway, with our nurses Allison, Lynda, Karen, Meg and Jo. Feel free to come and see any of your preferred vets at the respective clinics. You can call either one of the clincs to make that appointment. You can also book online appointments for our Kingsway clinic via our website, www.kingswayvets.com For anyone who recently has visited our clinic, you will have noticed some significant changes. 1) Please use the hand sanitiser provided BEFORE entering our clinic. 2) Remain behind the floor marked areas, indicated by yellow/black tape and please follow the nursess instructions when you attend the clinic. 3) We also ask that ONLY ONE person attend the clinic with your pet. Abiding by these new rules, will help protect our staff and also means that we can potentially stay open, unhindered, during these times. Help us to help you. Call us if you are in self isolation. DO NOT visit the clinic if you are unwell or have been overseas in the last 30 days. Please feel free to contact me, should you have any concerns. Stay safe. Dr Innis Cloete Practice owner

01.01.2022 Some tips on helping your pet through the anxiety of thunderstorms. 1. Create a safe place for your pet. Somewhere they can hide but also not feel trapped. Add ...some familiar things to this space like bedding and toys. Close the blinds to block out the lightning. 2. Distract. Turn the tv on or the radio to try and drown out the noise. Play with them if they want to or give them a treat. 3. Try not to stress. If you are calm it will help your pet. Give them positive reinforcement. Some other things you can try is Feliway or Adaptil. These products have appeasing pheromones which calm the animal. Feliway/Adaptil works much better if started in advance ie when bad weather is forecast, rather than waiting till it hits. If none of these tips help. Please contact your veterinarian.

01.01.2022 Elvis Purrsley came in to see us when he wasnt feeling very well and after some investigating and xrays we found something didnt look right in his abdomen. When in surgery Dr Dale and Dr Innis found something called an intussusception this is when the intestines fold back in on themselves and essentially cause a blockage! After a lengthy surgery and lots of TLC we are pleased to let you all know Elvis is doing fantastically and very happy to be home with his family
