01.01.2022 ALPACA PRODUCERS JOIN FORCES AT MITTAGONG About 50 alpaca producers from across NSW, Victoria and South Australia have converged in Mittagong today to talk abou...t ramping up the industry They have agreed to form a co-operative, which would move large shipments of fleece to China to meet booming demand for the product. It will be used for clothes, carpet and doonas and the co-op is being spearheaded by a group of Southern Highlands and South Coast farmers. The plan is to band together and export at least 10 tonnes of fleece to China each month.
