13.01.2022 INTRODUCING THE CAST ... COVID. We're Over It. The photo of this cast member was taken the last time she walked on stage dressed up to present something at the Town Hall she thinks it was a Deb Ball. And would you believe it, she still has the umbrella? This is photo of a young Nat Walters - Did you pick it? Nat says she came to the first COVID We're Over It workshop back in July to give herself a break from watching her son live his best life.... "I thought at best, I might have an opportunity to be crew!" The last time Nat wrote anything intended for the stage was a play delivered by classmates in Year 5. The only times she has presented anything to a crowd in the last few decades has been associated with work or delivering a eulogy! "I've loved the whole experience and am ever grateful to everyone for their encouragement. This has certainly brightened my life and I have learned so much." Nat has been involved in creating some of the dialogue for COVID We're Over It and will be performing in the two shows at the Gunnedah Town Hall on November 27 and 28. Tickets are available now nd selling fast at www.gunnedahconservatorium.com.au Don't miss your chance to see Nat take to the stage See more

09.01.2022 INTRODUCING THE CAST ... COVID. We're Over It. Wendy Carpenter could generally be considered a peaceful introvert, but something strange happens when she has an audience, a stage or a microphone. As a child, every camping trip with family friends would create a puppet show in the woods for the grownups. Many unsuspecting visitors to the family home (if they also had children to collaborate in a show) were cordoned in the lounge room for many a rendition of Jake the Peg, a ma...gic show and maybe a dance number with her younger brother on the ukulele. She joined the Scottsdale Youth Theatre as a teen and in her high-school productions, played a wild-haired chorus girl in Godspell and a sergeant in Wizard of Oz. She studied ballet growing up and still loves the freedom and Joy of expression that comes with movement and dance. When she joined Julia Rennick’s dance group a number of years ago, she found that dance and music still feels like magic and is now realising a long-held dream of learning to play the cello with Gunnedah Conservatorium.

The never-before-seen music documentary capturing Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin, as she records the most successful gospel album of all time, Amazing Grace with James Cleveland and the Southern California Community Choir. Recorded at The New Bethel Baptist Church in Watts, Los Angeles in January 1972. Amazing Grace is crafted from never-before-seen footage that captures an elegiac moment in American musical history whilst saluting the get-up-on-your-feet gospel heritage that transformed American music in the 1960s. 04.01.2022 INTRODUCING THE CAST ... COVID. We're Over It. Carter Cameron returns to the physical stage after enforced lockdown resulted in him taking his performances virtual through weekly covers on YouTube. After completing his HSC in 2019 and achieving a Band 6 in Music, Covid has seemingly decided that for Carter, Gunnedah is where he shall stay for the foreseeable future! There's always a silver lining and Carter says he is quite enjoying his Covid-enforced gap year!... Carter's musical experience began early in his high school life when he started vocal lessons at the Conservatorium. This introduced him to the world of musical theatre and performance. He continues weekly voice lessons with Jamie Brown, their work becoming a partnership through the later high school years as Jamie shared his immense knowledge with Carter. Carter also studied under Emma Kersley throughout his HSC year, during which he argued a little too much with his music teacher (he is sorry). Carter hopes even though the audience may not recognise him in "Covid. We're Over It" that they will love his performance. Though he finished Tiger King about 8 months ago, Carter still thinks that Carole Baskin killed her husband and fed him to tigers.

02.01.2022 Our newly-named Fabulasses performed at the lighting of the Christmas Tree on Saturday. This group has evolved from our community choir as a result of limits on larger numbers in choirs singing and rehearsing together. These conditions are starting to ease which is great news for all our choirs. The Fabulasses featured Meg Clowes, Ingrid Allen Thomas, Bec Thomson and Sandy Clark.

01.01.2022 This amazing program continues today. You can register and watch live today and replays are available of the sessions from Friday and Saturday. While the focus is woodwind, brass and percussion, there are some general sessions that would be of interest to vocalists and other instrumentalists. So exciting to have this program available musicians everywhere.
