25.01.2022 Kyja is another timid girl. She used to tremble from the start to the end. Now she is a tad hesitant but I get kisses throughout the groom and she stands beautifully instead of how she used to huddle into a ball. Before and after.

10.01.2022 Scoobie is had his first groom with me today. He was in a bad way. So matted and pelted I had to shave him as short as possible. He is a geriatric boy at over 16. He is blind in one eye, has very loose paper thin skin, and I suspect is deaf and perhaps suffering from some sort of doggy dementia. ... His clip took over an hour and he began to get very agitated on the table. He wasn’t sure of what was happening and I couldn’t hold him still in the end. Rather than stress him out I ended his groom once I got him as tidy and comfortable as I could. But he is perhaps a dog that needs to be sedated. This in turn with old dogs has its own risks. Dogs can pass away from the stress of a groom. Worst case scenario. If they survive they can be so traumatised that grooming to near impossible from then on. Today with the agreement of Scoobies owner I ended the groom before he became too stressed. And we will resume at a later date when he has had time to recover from his experience. Before and after.

06.01.2022 Pipper is a lovely wee pup who had her first ever tidy with me yesterday. She is only 4 months old and her owner asked for her face to be tidied in particular. I removed a number of knots that were beginning to turn to matts, tidied her face, clipped her claws and gave her a hot bath and dry to ease her into the grooming process. She was initially a little concerned and didn’t like the clippers around her face but otherwise behaved very well. ... Before and after
