24.01.2022 Woah! What a hit! Today, some Bigibila friends helped Miss Tarryn Cook some fried bread! We mixed the Dough, then kneaded it, cut the dough into squares and fried them until they were brown. After they cooled a little, we enjoyed them warm with butter, jam and golden syrup ... We shared with our Dhinawan friends, and they were demolished in no time! Delish!!

18.01.2022 COVID-19 and hay fever share some similar symptoms. This means it may be difficult to tell the difference between them. If your child has any COVID-19 symptoms... (even if you suspect it’s just their first allergy attack of the season), talk to your GP about getting your child tested for COVID-19. If the test result is negative and symptoms persist, ask your GP about a management plan during the COVID-19 pandemic. https://www.health.nsw.gov.au//frequently-asked-questions.

15.01.2022 This morning at 10am, we participated in #ReoMaori Language Moment here at Gunnedah Preschool. Together, we spoke about the greeting Kia Ora and the meaning of Whanau (family and friends). We also spoke about the meaning of ‘Kai’ (food/eat) at morning tea time. Miss Tarryn has made plans to cook a popular Maori snack this week and has also printed off some Maori activities for the children to complete. We will also be focusing on the Gamilaraay word of the week also, so this week will be packed with so much cultural goodness!

15.01.2022 Today is Indigenous Literacy Day! Both the Bigibila and Dhinawan rooms participated by tracing the letters that make our Gamilaraay sounds/pronunciation. This is also giving the children an opportunity to practice their pencil grip and hand-eye coordination needed for big school! Both rooms read different Indigenous texts at story time and Miss Kate enjoyed dancing to the ‘wombat wobble’ with the Bigibilas as well as working on an indigenous music sound recognition activity at rest time.
