25.01.2022 Three Gunnedah businesses are the winners in Gunnedah Shire Council's Share your Start-Up Story competition for Small Business Month held in October. We asked people to share the story of how their business was established - and why Gunnedah is such a great place to do business! We have an exciting day of arts and craft planned for Thursday, April 15 as part of our bumper school holiday program. Activities include a Creative Wool Weaving workshop with Sophie Honess, where participants will use a handmade cardboard loom to weave a colourful and textured artwork.... Then in Visual Storytelling with animator Danny Stanley kids will learn about storytelling techniques used in movies, comic books and cartoons. Participants will experience firsthand how lighting and colour can affect the mood of a scene, then create their own visual story using the skills learned. 23.01.2022 Yesterday our Waste Manager Sheridan Cameron visited one of the local winning teams of the 2020 Sustainable North West Enviro Race. Gunnedah Shire Council is a sponsor of the Enviro Race, which was run virtually this year. The competition consists of several problem solving activities centered on the themes of living sustainably and caring for the environment. Carinya Team ‘EcoDeco’ consisting of students Wesley Law and Mitchell Slee - were the Year 7 winners.... Congratulations and thank you to Sustainable North West for a great event!

23.01.2022 Community Christmas Tree We're ushering in the festive season next Saturday, November 21 with a lighting ceremony for the new Community Christmas Tree. The tree will be installed in Brock’s Court and the inaugural lighting will be held during the Two Rivers Arts Council (TRAC) Christmas Markets at 7:30pm.... 20.01.2022 It's all happening at Carroll! Last year, the Federal Government and Gunnedah Shire Council announced Carroll Progress Association had been successful in a grant application for an upgrade of the Carroll Sportsground. This was made possible through the Federal Government’s Drought Communities Program. 05.01.2022 Applications are open for the 2021 Gunnedah Community Scholarship Fund Gunnedah Shire Council is inviting students embarking on tertiary studies in 2021 to apply for the Gunnedah Community Scholarship Fund. The fund is open to local students under 25 wanting to further their training and education at university, TAFE, or an accredited training organisation.... Since the fund’s inception in 2002, more than 370 scholarships have been awarded, with over $350,000 raised and distributed to local students. 02.01.2022 Gunnedah residents can plan their next Household Chemical Cleanout, with an upcoming free disposal at the Gunnedah Waste Management Facility. CleanOut events offer residents the opportunity to dispose of a range of old and unwanted household chemicals safely. The upcoming cleanout is scheduled for: Saturday 28 November 2020, 9am - 4pm...
