25.01.2022 The AECG AGM for 2020 will be held on Thursday, October 22 at Gunnedah South School Hall at 4pm. Entry to the school will be via the Bridge Street gates and the meeting will be held in compliance with current Covid-19 regulations. We look forward to seeing you there!

Today, it has updated information regarding extending transition period to summer uniform at parents discretion. A big thank you to the one and only parent who directly raised the issue of hotter than expected weather regarding uniform. On advice, they are making an effort for this to be change to occur earlier on the school calendar as a permanent arrangement. ... Tip: the best place to raise an idea or ask how to change something is via the contact section of the app or by phone or in person. We typically respond quickly and appreciate feedback, especially ideas that come with solutions. Have a great week!

17.01.2022 Important - Parent Only information - Please do not share! Dear South Parents, Late this afternoon, we have received advice of a tragic occurrence on social media. The eSafety Commissioner is aware of distressing reports about a video of a suicide circulating social media platforms and we are after your help to protect our students from this sad occurrence.... E-Safety has contacted social media companies about the reports and will continue working with them to monitor the situation. They are encouraging anyone who encounter this content to report it to the social media platform they’ve seen it on, or to eSafety at www.esafety.gov.au/report/illegal-harmful-content. Parents and staff are encouraged to avoid raising the issue with students who may not have heard or been exposed to this video. Drawing undue attention to the issue may cause unnecessary worry or distress and increase exposure. What is the best thing you can do: Please keep your children of social media for a few days and monitor all social media (tip: this includes snap chat and fortnight)? As always, our staff will monitor those students who are more vulnerable and at-risk and check in with them about their interactions on and offline. 11.01.2022 Take a look at the recess and lunch options available at the canteen for Thursday and Friday. Try pancakes, fruit kebabs, pizza or an apple slinky for recess. Lunches for the remainder of the week include chicken burgers, fried rice, spaghetti bolognaise, beef hamburgers and pies. There are gluten free options and most of the menu is made in house from fresh ingredients. Log in to munch monitor via school stream to look at the menu in detail and place an order. Remember it is easy to order up to a week in advance and for on the day ordering it must be in by 9am.
