The Tigers hit back early in the second half courtesy of their captain, but it wasnt long before the Gunners regained their lead and maintain a five point buffer at the top of the table. 12.01.2022 Mid-week football returned to Bensley Road as the 2019 defending champions @Gunners Soccer Club Bensley Road hosted the third placed Camden Tigers Football Club... for the first time this season. And the hosts got off to a perfect start, with Anthony Nicola opening the scoring within 7mins. The Gunners continued to pile on the pressure and it wasnt long before Golden Boot leader Matt Wallace capitalised to double the advantage inside 23mins. The Tigers had a great opportunity to peg one back when they were sent to the spot, but Ross had his shot easily denied by Denny. Gunners were down to 10-men after Hunter was sent off, having conceded the penalty. The Gunners may have had the advantage on the scoreboard, but were quickly down to 9 players shortly after halftime, losing Phillips after being dismissed for an off the ball incident. 08.01.2022 The top of the table clash between defending champions @Gunners Soccer Club Bensley Road and Oran Park Rovers Football Club failed to disappoint. Oran Park op...ened the scoring through Bradon Clissold at 23mins, following a poor clearance from the Gunners goalkeeper. The lead was short lived, with a spectacular left foot volley from Daniele Chiadotto squaring things up just after the half-hour mark. 1 -1 at half time and up stepped Anthony Nicola to break the deadlock for Gunners at 61mins. Gunners would need to defend the lead without Mitchell Janes, after he was dismissed by the Match Official following a second caution. 03.01.2022 Today the MFA received communication from the Chief Health Officer regarding the easing of restrictions on sport from this weekend. Key points from the communic...ation are as follows: More than one parent may now attend community sporting activities if physical distancing of at least 1.5 metres can be maintained between people that are not from the same household; Non-essential adults should continue to be excluded from sporting activities; Community sports organisations and participants should continue to avoid shared travel arrangements such as car pooling and bus travel; Continue to minimise gatherings before and after the event; and Ensure strict compliance with all other elements of the COVID-19 Safety Plan. This is great news for the community as we head into Finals, however please note that the current Public Health Order continues to limit capacity to a maximum of 500 per venue. Please respect the COVID-Safety Plans in place at the local club you are visiting this weekend, as representatives from the Local Health Unit will be visiting venues in operation.
