25.01.2022 SWIPE to see some AMAZING RESULTS!! . MONDAY MOTIVATION . @breemiatanner has really made some massive lifestyle changes over the last 9 months and it has been an absolute pleasure watching her transform! Every challenge she gives it 110% and the results show this!! You know the best thing about a program like mine, we don’t count calories, we don’t restrict your favourite things but what we do is work together to make small positive changes in your life to find a lifest...yle that works for you. It’s all comes down to being disciplined to make the changes, be consistent, nothings perfect, you will have little set backs but you keep pushing forward, no matter what. It not easy, but it can be done! These photos prove it WORKS, and you can do it too!! . Stop wishing and start DOING!! . My clients inspire me to be better and do better for them, to continually guide & support them through the process but YOU have to do all the hard work to get the results! I’m so PROUD of you Bree and so are our little community!! Keep up with this amazing work, you’re killing it! See more

25.01.2022 MONDAYS are my fav day of the week! It’s an opportunity to reset your mindset, focus on new goals and start slaying them! What’s not to love about having a whole week ahead where amazing moments can happen . Green juices are my go to for nourishing my cells and refueling my body, especially after enjoying some treats over the weekend. It’s all about the balance

24.01.2022 It’s important to stretch after exercise as it will help with flexibility & reduce the risk of injury. Warm muscles are more pliable, and you’ll find you will be able to stretch further than when you are cold or before a session. Try and spend 5-10 minutes stretching after a session but be careful not to over stretch! Let’s get bendy

22.01.2022 Those Spring vibes are out today.. woo hoo. . The one thing I love about Spring/Summer is all the yummy Summer salads you can enjoy on the warmer days! You feel less like comfort food and more like those nourishing, light & healthy salads which energises you and makes you feel good from the inside out! . Who agrees Spring/Summer foods are better??... . www.gunnhealthandfitness.com.au See more

20.01.2022 Crazy diets, restrictions, fads aren’t the way to a healthy lifestyle... All the below are! . Start your week off with creating those building blocks for a better life.. . Choose one thing this week you can implement into your daily routine and start creating the life you dream of....

20.01.2022 I’m all about the BALANCE... . Stick to something that is attainable for you, long term.. Don’t diet for 8 weeks and just eat chicken and broccoli, lose weight, then because you can’t sustain that way of eating, put it all back on and more.. Educate yourself on how to eat healthy and also how to enjoy the things you love too. Find a way of exercising that you enjoy, not dread doing. Don’t train 7 days per week, if that’s something you can’t stick to long term, s...tart with 3 and increase it if you can fit it in, but being consistent is key.. YO YO dieting and quick health kicks don’t work long term, set yourself small achievable goals that you can stick too.. Health, fitness and wellbeing is not a SPRINT, it’s an endurance race for the rest of your life.. Don’t expect to eat healthy for 8 weeks, train your butt off and get super fit and lean and then stop once you reach your goal and expect to stay healthy, fit and lean.. That would be nice, but it’s not reality.. . Key point to my post.. find a healthy lifestyle that suits you, not what you think you should do because that’s what crowd is doing. . Happy Healthy Weekend Friends See more

19.01.2022 Do you like to eat before a workout?? . Studies show that eating fast-digestible carbs one hour before a workout can improve your performance. . In saying that, I can’t eat before a morning workout and if I was to eat something, it would be a banana. I don’t wake up hungry and I can’t workout after eating breakfast so I just start my day with boiled water, then an almond milk coffee, I’ll then workout and have my protein smoothie or something to eat after it. There’s no right or wrong, you’ve got to do what feels right for you and your body.

19.01.2022 Your WEEKEND WORKOUT is sorted!! Head to my Instagram page for a serious sweat sesh, that will get your heart rate pumping and those muscles screaming!!

19.01.2022 What’s one goal you’re trying to achieve atm?? . If you’re not striving towards something you may lack motivation and drive. It’s important to always have something to strive for and focus on, so you can continue to improve and grow. . www.gunnhealthandfitness.com.au

18.01.2022 Are you a banana lover or hater?? . I find them a quick easy & healthy snack for myself and the whole family. Although, none of us like if they go a little too brown, so then I pop them in the freezer to make our smoothies extra thick and creamy or make banana bread even banana, egg pancakes. They never go to waste!! . www.gunnhealthandfitness.com.au

18.01.2022 Friday Truth Bombs . It’s as simple as that!!

18.01.2022 Stepping into Thursday like... . I often get asked by my clients how do I do it all?? I just think I’m like every other super Mum trying to do a million things a day and wearing different hats. It’s what we do, isn’t it? Here’s one thing that helps me stay organised and on top of everything, is writing a weekly/daily list. On a Sunday, I write in my notes on my phone Monday, Tuesday etc and put everything I have to complete on those days, in time order. My entire da...y is worked out including things like put dishwasher on, make lunch, plan workout, pay bills, 9:30am class, Pt, activity time with the kids, walk, bake a healthy treat, prep dinner, fold washing, reply to someone etc etc. I also write a weekly meal plan before I go to shops so, I know exactly what I’m buying to reduce stress when I’m at the grocery store, to limit food waste and to ensure we’re eating healthy meals each week. I do waver from the list, if I’m at the shops and I see something else I want to make. . I know it might seem a little extreme but it really is a way I can stay on top of everything, I don’t feel overwhelmed at the tasks ahead, I actually feel more productive as I cross things off my list. I feel a sense of achievement and if I don’t get something done that’s not urgent, I just put it down for the following day. . Are you a lists person?? See more

18.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day to our Number 1. . The kids absolutely adore you and they are so lucky to have you as their dad! Thanks for everything you do for us. @joshiegunn . A special shout to my dad @santinam65, Josh’s dad @gunnhazel & my Nonno! ... . Our lives are better because of all of you and we love you all very much! . I hope everyone has a wonderful day! Sending you all hugs & kisses See more

17.01.2022 Eating an abundance of plant based foods will fuel your body with the amazing nutrients it needs to thrive with! As a general rule, always fill 1/2-3/4 of your plate with veggies/plant based foods including starchy veggies which provide a higher carbohydrate content for energy and then 1/4 of your plate with protein (plant or meat based) a small amount of good quality fats which can come from nuts, seeds, avocado, olive oil. You can even add a fermented food like kimchi, saue...rkraut to help with digestion. I base my main meals around these principles, however I listen to my body and also include things like food quality carbohydrates like brown rice, rye sourdough, pasta, oats, quinoa, spelt flour etc. . Its about finding a way of eating that works for you, your physical needs and the things you enjoy. When trying to lose weight yes, it’s about calories in vs calories out, however it’s still important to fuel your body with nutrient dense foods to provide your cells, body & mind with the best energy it needs to function as your best self. None of my clients have achieved their amazing transformations & results by calorie counting everything they eat, however they have done it, by eating like I mentioned above, creating a healthy relationship with food, having the freedom to still enjoy the things they love & listening to their body & it’s needs.. Do you agree??

Although, I still keep up with my fitness doing my online group & PT classes (which you can do from anywhere) and a few runs, I also continue to eat as healthy and as close to my normal eating habits as possible, however I am still craving my normal routine.. 11.01.2022 Bodyweight workouts have been shown to be effective and efficient in many ways, when it comes to building strength, endurance, stability, flexibility and balance. You can also still build muscle with bodyweight exercises, it doesn’t matter if your lifting weights or your own body weight, resistance is resistance & your brain/body doesn’t know the difference. . What I love most about body weight movements, is they’re a super functional and encourage all systems to work toget...her for optimal health, function and wellbeing! You can be creative and move in different planes, there’s no limitations on what movements you can do! . Our Thursday HIIT sessions always incorporate body weight functional movements like this one, that can be fun and super challenging at the same time. It’s like being a kid again and seeing what your body is still capable to do. We must continue to be creative and challenge our body in different ways as we get older because as the good old saying goes, if you don’t use it, you use lose it . Next time you’re around the house give this a go for 20 seconds on 10 seconds rest 4-8 rounds depending on your fitness level. See more

09.01.2022 One of our fav things to make together in the kitchen are protein balls. The kids love getting their little hands dirty, rolling the balls up. . Protein balls are a mix of nuts, seeds, dried fruit and a few other yummy superfoods depending on what flavour you’re making. We love using @happyway protein powder to not only give it an extra protein hit but because it takes the taste to another level. . The kids fav are my Chocolate & Coconut protein balls. A mix of dates, almon...ds, shredded coconut, chocolate protein powder & cacao. Simple but chocolatey and what kid doesn’t love chocolate, right? . Getting kids in the kitchen can be messy but it’s a great way to educate them about making healthy food choices. My kids love a treat, just like I do but they also know the importance of eating healthy too. Our health is our greatest gift, so teaching them young is a very powerful tool for later in their life. . www.gunnhealthandfitness.com.au See more

09.01.2022 Pretty simple, Right? . I’ve got a secret for you all?? There’s no magic pill, special drops, keto diet, vegetarian diet, special piece of equipment, ab machine, paleo diet that will help you lose weight quicker! Sorry to burst your bubble but you have to be in calorie deficit for weight loss to occur and it doesn’t matter what diet you’re on. However, I do believe some ‘diets’ or ways of eating are better than others and definitely have their place but depending on your goal..., will depend on what way of eating works best for you. Oh yeah, and you have to move your body to get results. There are so many other benefits to exercise & moving your body, so you shouldn’t just focus on weight loss!! You should focus on getting stronger, feeling more energised, getting fitter, feeling confident in your own skin, just to name a few. . So, next time you think of buying into some sort of special secret way to lose weight or get healthier, think twice about it. . The goal should always be to eat a well balanced diet from a range of food sources without restriction, to move your body daily, to get good quality sleep, drink plenty of water, to also look after your mental wellbeing wether it be to meditate or do yoga. Most of all Enjoy the journey and process. . Health is an ongoing journey and you need to workout what works best for you for long term health & wellbeing. . Stop dieting forever! If you want it, you gotta work for it . www.gunnhealthandfitness.com.au See more

08.01.2022 Are you a seasonal exerciser?? Or do you exercise all Year round?? . I’m lucky, I love to exercise (obviously, it’s my job/passion I’d be worried if I didn’t ) I don’t even have to think twice about doing it. It’s a part of who I am and I know the benefits out way any excuse I might try & tell myself. BUT... I know a lot of people tend to drop off in Winter, its a pattern I’ve seen for 16 Yrs in the fitness industry. I call them seasonal exercisers. Those who only exercise... in the warmer months & then find every excuse to stop when it gets cold and to tough. I’m really passionate about helping women to create a healthy lifestyle for life, not just to get bikini ready for Summer! You should always enjoy the process & focus on creating a healthy relationship with your body & mind. It really is an ongoing journey. You can’t just workout for 6 weeks and then think you’ll be fit & healthy for life.. lol it doesn’t work like that my friends. Yes, you can still want to lose weight, bikini fit so you feel more comfortable & confident in your own skin, but I think, if you start by creating small positive changes in your life, the rest will follow. . Here are some little tips that I think can help you stay on track with keeping healthy, fit & well, during lockdown & all Year Round. . Schedule your workouts in at the start of the week, like you would any other apt. Stick to it! Write a list of tasks you have to achieve each day. Cross them off as you go. Clear your mind of clutter Exercise 3-4 times per week. Drink 2 litres of water everyday Hit 10,000 or more steps per day. Get out for a walk everyday, even if it’s only 15 mins to get some fresh air or more to clock up those steps & a breathe of fresh air & change of scenery during lockdown. Set yourself new challenges each week, to keep yourself accountable, there is always room for improvement. Or you could invest in an online program (like mine ) to keep you accountable, fit, healthy & motivated all Year round. Take 5 mins of self care each day. Do one thing a day that makes you feel good.It could be to put make up on, wash your hair, read a book, meditate, put nice clothes on See more

08.01.2022 Happy Friday Friends . Have the BEST WEEKEND

07.01.2022 Running... some people love it and some people hate it. Which one are you? . I can’t stress to you enough that you should enjoy the exercise you do.. The main reason is, if you enjoy something you are more likely to stick to it long term. . Wether it’s running, bike, weights, boxing, CrossFit, HIIT, Pilates, yoga you must enjoy what you do!!... . I have always loved a variety of training. I love challenging my body in different ways. I’ve never been a long distance runner my body type is made for Sprints, power, speed and strength.. They are my strengths, however I do enjoy a run at least once per week to clear my head, get some fresh air running in nature and a break from my usual style of training. I also enjoy the occasional yoga session but it’s not something I would do everyday and that’s ok.. Don’t copy what you think is cool and what the crowd is doing, do what you want to do, what makes you get out of bed and exercise and makes you feel good. . That’s why my program always includes a variety of styles of training to keep the body & mind challenged and keep you inspired with variety so you don’t get bored. . 05.01.2022 I AM STRONG, I AM KIND, I AM POWERFUL, I AM HEALTHY, I AM FIT, I AM BRAVE, I AM HAPPY, I AM LOVEABLE, are just some of the things you should repeat to yourself daily.. Repeating positive affirmations daily can help you overcome negative self talk or thoughts and when you repeat them often you will start to believe them and that is really powerful. . www.gunnhealthandfitness.com.au

04.01.2022 YOU MATTER . www.gunnhealthandfitness.com.au

04.01.2022 I thought it was time to introduce myself & share a little bit about myself to all my new & old followers. . My name is Melissa Gunn & I’m a mother of these 2 gorgeous children Brooklyn (5) & Harlow (3). Wife to Josh Gunn. . I became a PT at the age of 17, I’m now 34 and have never wanted to do anything else. I have always loved exercise & pushing myself & I am very passionate about health & fitness for women but I also had to overcome my emotional eating issues from a young... age. . I want to be the best role model for my children & continue to teach them the importance of a healthy lifestyle but also without anxiety & fear. . I have learnt to find a balance that works for me and in return, I love to help other women find theirs too and teach them to prioritise their health, fitness & wellbeing. Not just physically but mentally too because for me, health is not about being the skinniest or most perfect person in the world. It’s about fuelling your body with good nutrition without restriction, exercising daily, building a strong body, bones & mind, living & enjoying experiences with those you love with freedom & most importantly having a good relationship with your yourself, food & body. It’s takes time and it’s a constant work in progress but you can do it, One step at a time. . 5 Things you might not know about me: 1. I am a black belt 2nd dan in Taekwondo & competed for the Vic state team when I was younger 2. I’m only 152cm tall (Lil pocket rocket is a nickname I’ve been called) 3. I love chocolate and don’t go a day without a sweet treat.(Balance) 4. I wanted to be a police officer or in the army when I was younger because I loved the training side of it (of course ) but stuck with PT 5. I also played footy in an all boys team when I was younger, came 4th best and fairest and captained my team onto the MCG. . As you can see my whole life has revolved around sport and trying to be the fittest & strongest version of myself. . Although, I’m not my leanest since having the kids, I am my happiest & most confident and that my friends, is more powerful than any number on a scale. . www.gunnhealthandfitness.com.au . @dazephotography_ See more

Lengthens the spine, relieves the back. The spine gets compressed as we go about our daily lives, whether that be from sitting for long periods of time, performing certain forms of exercise or not having great posture. Calms and re-energises the mind and body. You can do it (almost!) anywhere. . Give this a go on your Sunday Self Care day and feel the benefits..

02.01.2022 SUNDAY Breakfast sorted.. . Recipe now on my website. . [email protected]

01.01.2022 Strength Tuesday’s!! . I’m a lover of lifting heavy. I get a buzz out challenging my self to increase the weight each time and push my body to its limits. Your body is capable of amazing things, and it’s important to get out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself when working out. . I know a lot of women are scared of lifting weights in case they look ‘bulky’, however it takes specific programming and specific nutrition for women to gain a lot of muscle due to ou...r lower levels of testosterone. . Its important you continue to lift weights and maintain muscle mass as you get older, in fact it’s one of the best things you can do not only to be stronger, faster, fitter but you will also burn more calories at rest the more muscle you have. There are many benefits to being strong and lifting weights that aren’t just about how you look physically, which are just as important. Things like increased bone density & health, maintaining muscle tissue, decreased risk of injury & improves mood & energy levels. . Do you like lifting weights?? See more
