18.01.2022 To match our earlier history post about the past of Gunnings Automotive, here's some more information. The Gunning and Allen partnership was no more in August 1932 when the Macdonald’s became members of the firm. However, it wasn’t until 20 years later the business was renamed and became Gunning and Macdonald, with Don Gunning appointed managing director. The image below is the second building to come under the Gunnings name, the same location as the current Gunnings Automotive, with a few updates!

Gunnings Automotive Maitland streams from humble beginnings, as Gunning and Allen in Robert Street Maitland on November 10 1927, thanks partially to the work of Glen Morvern Gunning.
