25.01.2022 So, nearly 2.5yrs ago, I had my last haircut, had to run a personal best to Earn a haircut... What kind of silly motion is that? 41 going on 42 later this year, trained at the AIS for a year, competed for Australia even, so the likelihood was grim.. Having moved to sprinting a few yrs ago now, and running a 21.9 for a 200m as my pb, at the same time, a nasty hill over 200m was run in 29.20. Then Uni destroyed all consistency, training a max of 1 x week, Id lost all fitness.... Been back into regular training now 5 months. Combined with some brilliant mobility work, I wanted to put in a time trial up death hill to guage current condition and see how well the mobility work holds up against a full on effort. New course record and personal best follow with a 29.00 200m hill. So, haircut was earned (for those wondering why it grew so long) See more

14.01.2022 From working in the industry as a PT for years now, I see many people becoming Trainers who fall into 3 categories; 1 - They finish school, they are neither especially Fit nor are they yet Fat (from years of being active at school) and so they decide to become a Trainer, There are many of these folks, training middle aged people with no exercise history for the last 10-20 years, its a case of the Blind leading the Blind. 2 = 2nd person is the Fitness fanatic, no pain no ga...in, train till failure, or in this case, till the person breaks, injures and well, its the person who broke fault... 3rd person is the trainer who realizes everybody is different, does movement analysis, posture assessments, test for weakness before testing max strength etc. - sadly these trainers are probably only 10% of the trainers out there. I find there is no Magic training session - just the ability to be trained from a beginning stand point in that said program, and slowly progressed through the ranks, uninjured, and getting better and better year after year.

14.01.2022 3rd week down on 8 week challenge. Down to 8.3% bodyfat (7 point pinch test) from 11.5% at the beginning. Found a site that programs Height into the fat calculator and it puts me at 7% fat. Speed endurance getting much better. ... Stride length has improved out of sight, was 15 strides over 30m, now 12.3 steps. (Goal is 12)

11.01.2022 After years of working on the muscles, and never getting close touching my toes with every trick known, Id resigned myself to believing its something impossible for my structure. Through knowledge comes power, and in doing so, Ive learned a new way of thinking, about joints and the nervous system. So i put into practice this evening the goal of touching my toes, both hands, knee dead straight. Practice what i preach in training, and therapy is no different. Its just... harder working on yourself. 40 yrs of being inflexible. Oh yeah

01.01.2022 The Olympic coach whose expertise in Speed/power got me involved into sprinting, only to realize that to do so, you need a good ability to massage to achieve a high level in speed and power. The advancement in manual therapy has come along way from Igor Rub... but, its still needed in certain circumstances, as discussed here.
