23.01.2022 I’m extremely honoured to be in the incredible @photospunctuatemylife’s latest project ‘Artist’s in Residence’. A collaborative project with 50+ Victorian artists during Stage 4 lockdown. This is Suzanne’s virtual portrait. I then needed to respond in some way with it within a week. The final artworks will be released in a self publication with 50% profits going to @nava_visualarts and launched on the 29th October as part of @the.kindnesspandemic Festival. 19.01.2022 I was involved in this extraordinary project by the fantastic photographer Photospunctuatemylife. During our intense, restrictive Melbourne lockdown she took a portrait of us through the computer. Then she sent us a couple of images from that photoshoot. We then had a week to transform it anyway we liked. We also had to write a little blurb about our lockdown experience. This is an extraordinary memento of Melbourne artists during this intense period. The different images that people created and stories is fantastic. I highly recommend having a look at the images and buying the book. You will be supporting Suzanne, who gives so much back to the community always. Thank you Suzanne. You are such a treasured gem in our community.

17.01.2022 Rainy studio day with Fred. Today a customer told me I just want to be a snow princess and lie on the couch in my jacket with my cat.... It was important that her cat loved the jacket too. 16.01.2022 It’s a big day in my world today. My bedroom, house, studio, business and me will be filmed for an upcoming Franco Cozzo documentary. He’s an extremely infamous & iconic Melbourne furniture dealer. Basically everything in my life has been leading up to this moment. My life will be complete after today lol.

11.01.2022 Update: We want to say a huge thank you to our community for the overwhelming and generous response we’ve had to our psychiatry WardRobe project - for more info... on how you can donate visit: https://bit.ly/340FcRa Many of the patients who come into the psychiatry inpatient unit are admitted with only the clothes they arrive in, and some have no access to other clothing. So our Mental and Addiction Health team are launching a new project called the ‘WardRobe’ a robe stocked with good quality pre-loved clothing, as well as new underwear and footwear - available to our patients when they need them. To help make sure the wardrobe stays full, the unit are calling for donations from our staff and community. The walk-in wardrobe is launching on Friday 6 November and is based on the First Floor Ward in our inpatient unit. 10.01.2022 Yesterday I did the most beautiful workshop in connection with @campfirestoriesau. It completely exceeded my expectations. We made a super cool fluffy heart brooch but it was the incredible beautiful, heart warming, honest & sometimes vulnerable conversation that we had while sewing that really burst my heart. Connection is so important and sewing together is such a great tool for this. It was a magnificent success and I will definitely be doing more in the future. 06.01.2022 I realised this week that a whole lot of my customers because they are recent Gun Shy fans, missed out on the incredible Monster Madness Collection. I had to stop this Collection for x2 reasons. Firstly, at the time I just couldn’t make another one... I was sick of them lol. Secondly, good quality yeti fur became unavailable. It still is unfortunately. However, I’m no longer sick of this Collection and I would love for my new gorgeous customers to have a chance to own one. So... if, and only if, I can source some extremely good quality yeti fur, I may just open this fun and awesome collection up again. I can’t make any promises just yet though.... 04.01.2022 This year when COVID hit, I turned my garage into a studio so I could work from home. I really wish I had taken a before and after shot. The transformation really is quite extreme. Anyway I love it so, so much. I don’t think I’ll be moving out for a while... Home studios are the best! Running my biz completely remotely with zooms etc has been an unbelievable revelation. A lot of good things will come out of the way we have had to adapt and innovate. I’m excited for a very different way of working and doing things. There’s definitely no going back to normal. That is dead. A new innovative future awaits. Sending big big big love to everyone, especially though my other Melbournites whom are still in very restrictive lockdown. I love you all!!!

01.01.2022 Gun Shy supports artist @casey_jenkins in her battle with @auscouncilarts. Casey is an extraordinary feminist artist whom pushes boundaries and creates immense dialogue on a number of issues in every piece of work she produces. She has been one of my all time favourite artists for a long time now. I am absolutely appalled that the Australia Council has pulled funding from her piece IMMACULATE after none other than the Rupert Murdoch Muppet Peta Credlin attacked her work on S...ky News. For crying out loud!!!! This has deep repercussions for the future of the arts industry in Australia. For one, an Australian Arts Body shouldn’t be crumbling to an extremely right wing news media source. This in itself is disgusting. They should be supporting her!!! Secondly, it sets a scene of only art being funded that doesn’t push boundaries or create dialogue. Isn’t that a big part of what art is meant to do. What art is SHOULD NOT be defined by the deplorable and disgusting MURDOCH PRESS!!! Surely, with the petition into this disgusting media source just being launched in the last few days by Kevin Rudd, highlights how unpopular and biased this media monopoly is. In a right wing world, art has no significance, as Peta Credlin clearly states in her gross diatribe against Casey. Casey’s work is an important piece and Gun Shy stands by Casey.
