21.01.2022 Grace and her girls

08.01.2022 Every year we convince friends to let us hand pick after the machine harvester goes through, just enough for a barrel’s worth. We do a partial whole bunch ferment in the shade under the garden arbor, hand plunging daily until the skins are ready for basket pressing. The barrel sits in our shed until the weather warms up over summer at which point we invite friends over to help with bottling, usually in exchange for a free lunch. It’s wet outside today, the first big rains. Stay warm & dry, folks

07.01.2022 Alright, here we go again. Another big change of gears. Day 1 of 6 weeks for Dan to juggle the juggle solo (I don’t envy him!), stepping into my role as well as his own during this midwifery prac. So if you see us/him around town looking somewhat dishevelled, the girls’ hair full of dreadlocks or perhaps in unwashed clothes, you know why It’s going to be great. Wish us luck!

04.01.2022 Everyone’s happy when uncle Oli’s back in town. Nobody takes orders in the garden (kind of), does the dishes behind me (though sometimes begrudgingly) or babysits (with such devotion) quite like he does.
